Ronaldo is the Premier League's leading scorer with 19 goals
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has told BBC Sport he attempted to sign Cristiano Ronaldo before the winger joined Manchester United in August 2003.
Wenger's move for the Portuguese winger Ronaldo stalled because of United's links with Sporting Lisbon.
Wenger said: "He was here much earlier - he could tell you that if he wants.
"Manchester United had a partnership with Sporting Lisbon when United assistant coach Carlos Queiroz moved and that made it very difficult."
Wenger refused to elaborate any further when questioned about Ronaldo's time with Arsenal.
"I don't want to create any story that isn't needed," the Frenchman told BBC football correspondent Jonathan Legard.
Ronaldo has been in sensational form all season, scoring 29 goals as well as setting up countless others for the Premier League leaders.
Since joining Arsenal in 1996, Wenger has established a unparallelled reputation for identifying and buying Europe's finest young players.
second striker = offensive midfielder
but what the hell man, no one gives a ****, has any other STRIKER scored 29 goals this season? no
so it doesn't matter that he plays striker sometimes, he USUALLY plays wing
no other striker played in 4 competitions.
he has 27 goals in 28 matches played and THREE ASSISTS. thats proof that hes playing as a striker this whole year... he had 20 assists overall last year and more than half of this season is over and he has THREE ASSISTS IN EPL, FA CUP, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE COMBINED. pretty bad for a MIDFIELDER (yea right) lol.

Adebayor
Torres
Drogba
++ everyother striker who plays in EPL and CL or Uefa cup so ronaldo is the only PL player to play in 4 competions? LOL
btw do you consider Robinho a striker? he is more of a striker than ronaldo
but then again: WHY ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THIS? AS LONG AS HE PLAYS GOOD AND SCORES GOALS, I DOUBT FERGUSON WOULD GIVE A **** ABOUT HIM PLAYING WINGER, STRIKER OR GOALKEEPER

oh and just saw your other post, all i have to say is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqxxaZstEyE
lol dont just post a random old real loss thats weak. and robinho and cristiano play left wing forward and right wing forward respectively... so they play in pretty much the same position. but robinho has like 10 assists this season and 8 goals (he doesnt take penalties, no free kicks either), cristiano has 1 assist in the league and like 14 goals from open play (some of these came when he was playing striker). plus robinho should have scored like 5 more goals but hes always unlucky... robinho is better.

whatever you say man
oh and btw, that's not just a random loss, thats the most happy I've been in a non-barca football game
when robinho came to real madrid , it was near the end of galacticos era, we had a new president, coach ect ect, and from then untill this season we havnt been stable, every coach that came to real madrid didnt wanto to take risks with younger and unexperienced players, so since he came to real madrid robinho has hardley played his natural position. and every new coach we had played robinho diffrent positions,
but ronaldo has played in his natural position since day 1 in man u
also man u has been stable over the last 5 years, u havnt changed ur coach either
so if robinho plays like this in his first proper season at real madrid imagine wat he can do from now
robinho>>c.ronaldo
