    Magpies sack BIG Sam Allardyce

Allardyce parts company with Newcastle United

Newcastle United have parted company with manager Sam Allardyce according to reports.

The former Bolton boss spent just eight months in the job after being appointed by Freddy Shepherd at the end of last season.

But while new owner Mike Ashley stood by him after his takeover of the club, rumours persistently circled St James' Park as the shadow of Alan Shearer loomed large over Allardyce.

The former England skipper is out of the country at the moment but speculation is sure to reach fever pitch in the coming days as to whether he will take the job.

      Boss Allardyce leaves Newcastle
Newcastle have parted company with boss Sam Allardyce after just eight months.
The club, currently 11th in the Premier League, said the decision had been reached by "mutual agreement".

Allardyce, who was in charge for 24 games, said: "I am disappointed to be leaving Newcastle but I wish the club all the best for the future."

Former captain Alan Shearer has been strongly linked with the post but chairman Chris Mort said: "A new manager has not yet been appointed."

First team coach Nigel Pearson will take charge of the team for Saturday's Premier League meeting with Manchester United.

Allardyce took over at Newcastle in May but he has come under increasing pressure this season, culminating in a run of three straight league defeats over the festive period.

His last game in charge was a 0-0 draw at Championship Stoke in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.

Even someone as ferocious and intimidating as Sam Allardyce failed at Newcastle United.

Goes to show them Geordies are stuck with a mediocre team

p.s. their Mackem cousins also support shit - seems Roy Keane has failed as a manager because his old childish temper has made him stop talking to his players at all....he looks doomed

          That region is mediocre tbh
