Though I do feel sorry for the Ivory Coast. Such a classy team with unbelievably gifted players. Maybe they'll win the next edition, now it's back to their clubs...

Cameroon will be much tougher for Egypt this time around, that's for sure.

Egypt is a solid team but Africa Football is just all arround getting better. Ivory Coast is a great team and they will rebound from this. Now they need to focus on world cup qualifying and learn from this. Man what happened to Cameroon? They are a great team but they coudn't qualify for the WC06 after that nice run. That is the only problem I see with African teams. Every year there is a darling African team that just wins the hearts of soccer fans. Last world cup it was Ghana and the year before that it was Cameroon. Before that it was Nigeria and so forth and so on. The problem is that these teams come and go.

Personally I would love to see Ivory Coast rise to the top.

Well I dont' know about 2 spots because Asia as a continent is freaking huge. Personally I think they should have 3.5 spots. The group winners of the final stage go on to the world cup. The two #2 ranked teams duke it out for the 3rd spot. The loser of that plays agaisnt like a concaf team so you potentially have 4 teams qualifying for Asia.

By the way Persian boy I noticed that as well Egypt does well usually in football but they seem to always miss the WC.
