but anywayz, its all over now.
well if u say that then Iraq's last 2 matches can both be considered flukes

they won the semis from a penalty shootout and in the final the lone goal was a cross that the keeper just missed and younis happened to be there to head it into an empty net

lol man, this Yashar is really exposing himself. He considers an Iranian achievement a fluke, and says we are jealous LOL, yet he considers nothing Nashat or Iraq have done a fluke. Pure Iranianism at it's best! To each their own I guess, Akram = Next Zidane btw.

        no, there was a difference.

in the waff game, the first 20 mintues or so, the game was even. after that, it was all iraq. dont tell me its not true. roudbarian was jumping left and right for more than an hour!!
the only thing iraq couldnt do was place the ball in the net and everybody saw it!
it was like the game when macedonia beat iran 2-1 in azadi under branko some time back with iran having all its stars and macedonia having its B team. or even the jordan game. thats a perfect comparison.

now u tell me, was macedonia the better team that won against us? they had only 2 chances, they scored both. iran couldnt score more than once inspite of attacking the whole game!
that day in azadi, jordan defended for 83 minutes, and scored the only goal on its only counter attack! iran attacked from the beginning till the end but couldnt score! thats how exactly, iran B team beat iraq national team in WAFF, whether anybody here likes it or not.

however, the asian games it was different! in the finals iraq was able to score and win the game against saudi arabia, which btw was one way traffic. saudi arabia had absolutely nothing to say in that game, except for 1 real chance in the entire 90 minutes. iraq trashing australia, knocking out and dominating south korea and saudi arabia for 90 minutes is more than just fluke.

unfortunately, football is a game where results dont always summarize the game itself. thats why many misunderstandings happen, but atleast some people like u can present ur argument in a well mannered decent way which i appreciate

u not only showed ur class and maturity to handle discussions, but also the fact that half the time, ur arguments involve putting words in other peoples mouth and not having enough knowledge but commenting on something.

people saw the WAFF final game between iran and iraq and everybody saw iraq trashing australia and saudi arabia in the asian games. they dont need me or u to judge. the problem is, some of us iranians are too blind or biased to admit the truth. i guess, this is ur definition of "pure iranianism"

maziar zare = next patrick viera btw

they played very dirty against Saudi though, that may have had an effect, and in the south korea game it was more like end to end action, iraq wasnt exactly just owning the whole game. i agree they trashed Aussie though

maybe if the struggling iranian players that u mentioned received the same treatment as the iraq nt they probably would have all been in Europe ages ago/
btw there is no doubt iraq had first class training with their NT prior to the asian cup competition
ROFL, this one is the most creative reason yet!

              Repped!!!

You don't need to ask God how long they prepared for the tournament, I can tell you that. Jorvan Vieira was appointed less than 2 months prior to the Asian Cup and the WAFF championship was the team's preparation...why didn't Iraq's money get a friendly with a European or African team?

Oh and btw, regarding Iraq's special treatment, the team had to rest in a hotel lobby in Malaysia waiting on Team Melli to finish packing up their bags.

Furious Iraq coach lashes AFC over hotel shambles

"The Iran team were still in their rooms and they are already out of the competition. Priority has to be for the teams who have qualified.

"We waited four hours and then they gave us only eight rooms for 31 persons. After that we had to wait another two hours for the rest of the rooms.

"We finally picked up our luggage at 8.15pm and only then could we get our clothes to go to the training ground at 9pm, and we came back from training at 12.30am. We took our dinner at 1.30am."

1 more thing, this is towards yashar's post about all of nashat's achievments.
just because a player's name is in the team squad doesnt necessarily mean they led that team to watever championship. for example, its basically like saying under kazemian's achievments... KAzemian helped lead iran to the 2006 world cup. sure he was in the squad but did he do much, no

i dont see yashar/djmo talking much about who should have won the asian cup, they are talking abuot nashat as an individual player and comparing him to others

                          Akram deal not dead yet

Some reports are saying he may be loaned out to a Swiss club.

Good to see the issue is getting more publicized, and glad the Iraqi government has intervened in the matter.

I think rules state that if an appeal for a player's work permit gets rejected too, then the club have to wait 12 months before reapplying for the permit. However, given the fact that this was a rather silly technicality to be worth the farce of a rejection, I am pretty sure with Govt intervention (and a bit of PR boost for the Brits in Iraq), summer of 2008 can change all.
