The recent clashes in Italy with hooliganism causing chaos between fans and police and disrupting Serie A a bit was caused more or less by Lazio Ultras. Sad to see a Lazio fan getting killed by (apparently) a stray bullet fired by a riot policeman to break up a fight between Inter Milan and Lazio fans on, of all places, a roadside restaurant on some motorway (LOL?)
I was stating a fact - Lazio has a fascist past (like Real Madrid & Franco) but that has caused it to get a rather undesirable tag of having some really pathetic thugs as supporters. Paolo Di Canio openly admits he was a young Ultra when he was growing up, but he is also a really solid and good player throughout his career.
That said, Lazio will probably remain the more historically dominant and successful club in Rome (when it comes to European trophies)....sorry Roma fans, your team hasnt done much at all in Europe compared to Laziosigpic

And it wasn't Lazio and Inter fans. It was Lazio and Juventus fans. Lazio and Inter ultras are friends. An innocent man died that day due to heavy policing. Nothing more. As for your so called claims of facist past. Why is it only Lazio gets the finger for being right wing? If you think Lazio is bad go to Eastern Europe. Even then Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid, Inter are just as bad. Even Roma has poor fans. But only Lazio gets the blame. I have argued this shit before, but it gets old.
It does have something to do with football, because without the ultras Lazio wouldn't exist today. They are a big part of the club.

Performance wise (disregarding the current form and the current problems) they probably hold the same status as Tottenham do in England (but Tottenham would whip us any day of the week).

Lazio Target Pizarro!
After netting the winner for Chelsea at Birmingham, his second goal of the season (both against Birmingham) it`s being reported in the media this morning that Claudio Pizarro is a target for the slipping Italian giants, Lazio.
With Pizarro, having slipped further down the strikers pecking order following the arrival of Nicolas Anelka, Lazio believe that the front man may be tempted by the prospect of regular first team football.
However, the initial indications are that with Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou away on international duty and Andriy Shevchenko currently injured, Lazio will be given short change if they try to negotiate a transfer this January.

Pablo Ledesma (Argentinian midfielder from Boca Juniors) is, according to Bica's president, only a personal contract away from joining Biancocelesti. Lazio and Boca have agreed on the transfer fee (unknown to the public) and it is up to Pable now.
It also seems that Carrizo will sign within these days. The woman who works with his papers says that it should be decided by tomorrow whether he gets a passport or not.
Lazio are also interested in the Italian international defender Zaccardo. Palermo's president have indicated that Lazio can sign the player if they show some money.sigpic
