NFL playoffs AFC/NFC championship breakdown and betting odds

San Diego Chargers @ New England Patriots (-3.5)
New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers (-1.5)

If you want to bet on these games I would go with the Patriots giving up 3 1/2 points to the Chargers in their own home. For the second game I like the way the Giants are playing but GB is playing great ball, and it's in Lambeau field so I would take the Packers and the 1.5 points.

I see a Green Bay vs New England Super Bowl.

What are your thoughts NFL fans?

You know what fellas I watched a lot of pro football in my life, and this is by for the most dominent team I have ever seen. I am talking about the Patriots here. Now Shahouman jaan as for your old school QB vs new school QB analogy of Favre vs Brady, I tend to disagree with you and here is why. Tom Brady is more in the mold of an old school quarterback. He has an excellent work ethic, he does not talk trash about the opposing team, he is usually very respectful towards the media, and the guy does whatever it takes to win. New school quarterbacks for the most part are a bunch of primadonnas. I am not saying all of them are but that tends to be the trend.

Now if there is any team that could possibly beat the Patriots, it is the San Diego Chargers. They have enough play makers Tomlinson, Antonio Gates, etc on defesne Shaun Marriman(SP?) and a load of tallent. The question is will the Chargers get pressure on Brady? If Brady has all day to throw in the pocket he will pick your team apart. Patriots are a pass oriented team so if you distrupt that, then you have a chance. The Ravens played physical with the Patriots and almost beat them if it was not for a few bad calls that went against Baltimore.

That game is a toss up but since it is @ New England, and the Pats finally have a bevy of WR's ie Randy Moss, Dauntae Stallworth, and Wes Welker for Brady. That is what seperates the Pats from the rest of the teams in the NFL. Their owner Bob Craft learned a valuable lesson last year, and that is you need playmakers at the WR slot. You can have Brady as your qb, but if your primary WR is Jabar Gaffeney WHO DROPED A WIDE OPEN PASS AGAINST THE COLTS IN LAST YEARS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, you have problems.

CORRECTION THE LINE IS 15 FOR THE CHARGERS PATRIOTS NOT 1.5 That makes a BIG difference.

chargers have momentum and have been dominating teams more than the patriots have in the same stretch (past 8 games). i think if moss is shut down and the chargers can put pressure on brady, there is good hope for sd

That is a tall task to ask for shutting down Moss. Even if the Chargers are successful on shutting down Moss, Tom Brady has a nice selection of WR's to go to. He still has Stallworth#2 who has exceptional speed and Wes Welker as another sold #3. They probably have the most depth at the WR position.

The Chargers on the other hand have momentum but fI still prefer to have Billacheat instead of Norve Turner. I speak to you as a Raider fan so I know Norve very well. He is a nice guy but I don't know how he is going to handle the pressure of playing NE in the road. The Chargers got a nice W at the Colts but the Pats are a different animal.

By the way I am not trying to be all over the Pats jock here because I too HATE NEW ENGLAND ever since that "tuck rule" snow job game where Tom Brady fumbled against the Raiders, and they called it a forward pass and reversed the original call.

When NE gave up a 4th rounder to Oakland for Randy Moss, Al Davis basically handed Mr. Craft a 4th Super Bowl.
