FC Twente finished 2nd this season ahead of Ajax and PSV. They could be playing CL football next season. Where have you guys been? Anyway, really feeling the love here...you guys should be glad more Asians are moving to Europe and the Eredivisie is a great stepping stone.Previously known as "IraqiFootball"

Anyway, good luck to him. It's good to see some West Asians move to Europe. FC Twente is a decent 2nd-tier European team; they came out of nowhere this year and claim 2nd in the league. McClaren is a pretty good coach as well. I don't know how he'll do there though - like all Asian talents - the European league they leave to is a million miles ahead of Qatar, Saudi and UAE ... but one thing for sure, he'll get in shape, just like all other Iranians who went to Europe. Their fitness regiment, in Europe, is extreme!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, I don't want to ruin this thread because it's of a particular player in a neighboring country, ... and we should wish Nashat success cause in Europe, they probably don't know the difference between Iranians or Iraqis anyway ... so he can bring, perhaps, more attention in Holland to players in West Asia ... and Iran, like any country in West Asia, can benefit with more of its players going to Holland
..... But I feel this needs to be address... seriously, we have players in Spain and Germany and now someone is saying we wish we had a player in Eredivise. I personally don't mind to see our players in places like France, Turkey or Holland but please just because this is one of the lowest points in our football doesn't mean you should over hype other Asians, and be denigrating our own players.
Javad Nekonaum is still Asia's best alongside Nakamura and Park; and Masoud is already getting great recognition in the media (i.e. by football supremos like Johan Cryuff) in Spain and is a wizard. We also have players like Jabbari, Heydari, Rahmati and Khalatbari etc. that can make the jump to Europe. We also have full-blooded Iranians, such as Safari, Dejagah also succeeding at high levels. Just relax guys, Iranian football is just facing a bad time!
And IraqiFootball, people wished him luck here, where is the lack of love? Don't focus only on the negative posts and forget the more numerous positive ones.I really didn't see negative ones, just a picture of a funny looking bird - come on, you know Nashat looks mad weird!
Anyway, I don't really watch much Eredivisie - I'm sure many don't here either (those outside Holland) - so keep us updated on his status. And you're welcome to do so. We won't ban you out of thin air cause you update us on your players, we ain't ... well ... we ain't like some of your countrymen

oh yeah, we're dying for a guy at twente
They are in the process of becoming one of Holland's top sides, qualifying for the CL 2 times in a row.
Steve McLaren is their coach and he made the team 2nd in de Eredivisie and lost the dutch cup on penalties. I would love to see an Iranian player at Twente.

i sense a lot of hate, jealousy and/or insecurity here among some members.
im sure many of these iranian members would rather see the likes of jabbari, madanchi, hajsafy or khalatbary in a top dutch team rather than staying in IPL or moving to UAE league!
we should instead be proud other asian talents, specially west asian talents who are not as exposed as east asian, are going to europe. this will only attract more european scouts to the middle east!
and nashat akram is one of the most talented asian players, and this was officially mentioned by sven goran erickson himself when akram had an offer from man city.
im very fond of this player, ever since i saw him playing for iraq, he has a style similar to gerrard and ballack, and is an all rounder midfielder with good qualities.
wish him all the best!

And I just wished him luck and want him to succeed in Europe, how is that hate?

2)i dont overrate their players. i think a few of their players like nashat akram, younis mahmoud and hawar mulla mohammad are among the top asian players, and top asian players doenst mean just top 5 players of asia.
i also think some of their players are over rated, like their GK noor sabri who is crap or emad reza who is extremely selfish and over rated.
and definitely, nashat akram is in my opinion their most talented and im glad someone like erickson spoke so highly of him cos it kinda proves im not overating their players or am not sucking up to them, or atleast not him.
to me, nashat akram is one of the top talents of asia as a whole, and i wont be surprised if he turns out to be the next nekounam of asia, at all!
i dont know about his mental strenght and attitude, but i think he definitely has enough potential and quality to play in a mid table or bottom table serie A, bundesliga or maybe even la liga team.
i hope he uses his presence in twente as a stepping stone to move to bigger leagues, just like park ji sung and lee yung pyu who moved from PSV to EPL and bundesliga.
how come, u think u give credit where its due but if i have a different opinion than urs, im overrating them and u immediately jump on me with ur sarcastic "oh god" comment?
3)and the warning i issued to u, if i remember correctly, was after a series of arguments and in the end u didnt make such a good comment about me.
i definitely didnt warn u just cos u said i overrate iraq and its players! u said something alone the lines of me being an arab parast, or an arab butt kisser or something...i clearly remember.Last edited by yashar_fasihnia; 05-21-2009, 06:11 AM.

Again, he may or may not succeed. Time will tell. But you say all this stuff about him after his stints with Iraq, UAE team, Saudi team and Qatar team? Let him prove it in a decent league - and Holland is surely that.
And 50 toman. Bayern, Fulham, Bolton, Frankfurt and Osasuna are better than FC Twente. And I don't even know about Bochum! Just cause you live in Holland, you shouldn't overrate their soccer league. I still take Turkish and French league above theirs. And Spain, England, Italian, and German teams are in another class by themselves. And yes, I'll admit, I'd love for any of our boys to go to any 1st-tier or 2nd-tier European league incl. Holland - but I don't think you should make exaggeration claims to prove your point.
