Kumasi - Egypt's players sacrificed a cow during a training session on Friday to bring them luck at the Africa Nations Cup. A Reuters photographer at the practice session said the players surrounded the cow when it was released on to the field and pulled it to the ground before one of them killed it by stabbing it in the neck.
Team sources said the ritual was to bring them luck and that the meat would be donated.
Nations Cup holders Egypt face Angola in their quarter-final in Kumasi on Monday.

I Read the swedish version in and there the players were dipping their hands in the blood of the cow for luck.. the players first rumbled down the cow and then one of them, named Kamel stabbed it in the neck.. Then Ibrahim Saeed, from turkish Ankaragucu dipped his hands in the blood of the cow!!

i dont think they needed to let it loos and hunt it down on the field, butcher it like 10 lions and then take a bath in its blood before donating it.. theres many wayz to kill a cow, this is the most stupid and ineffectiv one..
