The Iranian heavyweight, Ali Mazaheri, claimed the 19th and final Olympic qualifying spot for the 2008 Olympics after beating the Uzbek boxer.
Mazaheri defeated Uzbekistan's Jasur Matchanov easily 14:5 to be the only Iranian to have qualified for the 2008 Olympics at the First Asia Boxing Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand.
Uzbekistan was the most successful country in Bangkok, qualifying with four boxers eligible for the world event, followed by Thailand, Korea and China who qualified with three each.
Tajikistan with two qualified boxers stands before Iran, Kazakhstan, India and Japan with one qualified boxer each.
While a total of 19 boxers qualified at this first Asian qualifying event, a further 19 will qualify at the 2nd Asia qualification tournament to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from March 15-25.
