Report: Florentino Perez Creates List Of Seven Stars For Real Madrid

The former president is set to focus his attentions on seven 'cracks' to illuminate his second campaign at the Bernabeu.

According to the latest reports from Spain, would-be Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has narrowed down his shortlist for star summer signings to seven names.

The ex-Merengues supremo is an odds-on favourite to regain control at the Bernabeu, given that no-one else has thrown their hat into the ring as of yet. In customary fashion, Sport has released a list of players whom Perez is keen to choose from to boost his credentials.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Steven Gerrard, Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres, David Villa and David Silva make up the list of seven superstars whom Perez has his eye on. The names come as no surprise given that Madrid have courted them all vigorously in the past.

In reality, however, Perez faces an uphill task to attract most of those names to the Bernabeu, with the exception perhaps of Villa and Silva, who may be easier to land due to Valencia's financial troubles.

The Liverpool trio would be particularly tricky: Gerrard is set for life at Anfield; Torres made his name with Atletico Madrid; and Alonso hails from the Basque Country, a region renowned for its animosity toward the Spanish capital.

Then there is the fact Manchester United have no intention of letting Ronaldo leave, while Kaka proved when he snubbed Manchester City that riches and glamour mean little to him in the long run.

Perez, though, is no stranger to pulling off big-name signings, having landed the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, David Beckham and Luis Figo in the past.

the only ones who would possibly come are david villa and silva. but why the hell would we need villa when we have ruud raul huntelaar higuain saviola? this guy is clearly the same retard and will screw up our club again.

we should definately find a way to get David Silva, this kid is amazing on the ball and could be a long term player in our midfield if he wants to leave Valencia. Xabi Alonso could also be a good signing, but the rest of those players are basicly unrealistic to come here. That report alone should be proof that Perez is not fit as a president for any club.

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon may have been booted out of the Santiago Bernabeu offices earlier in the year, but that has not stopped him from pursuing his obsession with Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

The lawyer, who no longer has any say in how the club is run, expressed his certainty that Ronaldo would sign for Madrid as he looked back at his tumultuous two-and-a-half year term at the ‘White House’.

“I believe that my work at Real Madrid was good. We won six titles, I doubled the club’s income and in addition, one of the best players in the world will join the club as soon as the current season is over, and that is all thanks to my work,” he crowed during an interview with Cadena SER programme ‘El Larguero’.

“The past summer was not an appropriate time to make big signings but Madrid will always attract those superstars because they have the money to pay the players what they want.”

Although Calderon did not specifically mention Ronaldo’s name, AS believes that the ex-supremo is indeed referring to the Red Devil after he dismissed rumours that he had a conversation with Milan playmaker Kaka’s relatives in an airport.

“I do not want to create false expectations because the rumour is untrue,” he affirmed. “In any case, what is necessary is that the next president who comes in must sign the best players in the world.”

Finally, the 57-year-old revealed that he will not be attending the re-staging of the botched General Assembly, nor will he run again for the presidential elections.

“I must not attend the Assembly as I have been ordered to stay away from it. I just wanted to say today that I will not hide from anybody and if the courts summon me, I’ll be more than happy to testify,” he concluded.

“And I will not appear in the elections either. I left my current term because it was killing me and I had to think about all the damage it was doing to me and to my family.”

                          * Real Madrid

Martinez Bravo, the president of group Plataforma Blanca, an opposition party at Real Madrid, has assured today that Florentino Perez is "not interested" in elections this summer.

The former president is believed to be ready to make a comeback this year, with plenty of big names reported to be coming with him.

However, Bravo told Marca that he will not be joining or supporting his campaign and that Perez does not want his failings to be bought up at the elections.

"I have had different indirect approaches encouraging me to support his candidacy but I do not understand why he does not show his face. I have had signs and three invites, but I know that he is not interested in elections, only the applause interests him, because he has made mistakes and he does not want them to be recalled. I have blind faith in our chances and the associates, the surprise is ready, and we can win," he mused.

Bravo went on to say that whilst Perez has "all the right in the world" to run for president, he wants guarantees that he has not "spoken with Vicente Boluda and negotiated any deal, so that it can be done fairly."

The president of the Plataforma Blanca went on to talk about what he would do if he were in charge, claiming "the club would never be a corporation" and that he would put an end to the "instability".

He also declared that he would "bring a player who is spectacular at present and has a future" to Real Madrid.

that's the way R.Madrid should be. They can't operate like a Euro powerhouse with a bunch of noobs.
