raul is the best captain ever. no question about that. barca play beautifully yea... thats why they all jump on each other and hump each other out of joy after scoring at home against osasuna because of a deflection in the 88th minute. if you mention bojan messi and gio i can mention hugain, gago, drenthe, RAUL. real was, is and always will be barcas daddy.
i guess with captains its just preference but puyol has been a solid captain for Barca and Spain, a team which Raul no longer takes part in. yeah ok Barca had one game they got lucky and scored a last minute goal, do you remember real madrid last season? they were doing that every other game... as far as the "talent" real madrid has produced, higuain and drenthe are benchwarmers this season, gago is good but nothing to brag about, and ill admit Raul has had quite the upbriging. But you can't compare those to Messi, who is arguably one of the top 3 players in the world right now (nominated for World Player of the year), Bojan who is 17 and already been called up to national team, Gio who is deemed the savior of Mexican soccer at 18, Iniesta and Xavi who dominate Barca and Spain's midfield.

Real Madrid reach agreement for Ghana whiz Opare tribalfootball.com - January 09, 2008

Real Madrid have reached an agreement for Ashanti Gold fullback Daniel Opare.
AS says Real have secured the Ghana U17 international to a four-year contract, though is still to gain a working visa for the youngster.

Real chiefs haven't discarded the option of bringing Opare to Madrid after the African Nations Cup so he can train with Bernd Schuster's first team squad.

Gio is good but he hast matured yet, he gets booed by barca fans
bojan is good, i hav nothing to say about bojan
ineista and xavi are like guti and sneijder of real madrid
robinho=messi (Pele vs maradona brazil vs argentina real madrid vs barca)
higuain will play more and more since robben is like wine glass u touch him he gets injured for 3 weeks
but our our defense is much much better than yours we hav marcelo 19 years old and has played nearly all RM gams
and sergio ramos is just unstopable he could play striker if was allowed to
        plus pepe

i mean i wasn't comparing the quality of players, my point was more to say that barca produce some of the greatest talent. like robinho, robben, sneijder and others you mentioned weren't brought up through the Real Madrid system. All the players I named developed through Barca's youth ranks and there were other like Fabregas I forgot to mention. and by the way statistically Barca have the strongest defense in La Liga right now even though I might agree Madrid's is stronger.

being brought up by youth system=playing in the junior teams
RM bought Eto'o from another team and put him in their reserve squad, that's not considered being brought up

by forgetting him at the airport when he arrived from cameroon? if there's anyone who made him, it's Malorca

though they can't take credit for "bringing him up" either
