"It was a glorious debut"
With all eyes focused on Rafael van der Vaart, Real Madrid's newest acquisition met all expectations with a goal and assist to lead the Whites over Independiente Santa Fe.
“Everything that took place tonight was beautiful. The goal and assist were the icing on the cake. It's the perfect debut for a footballer and his new team. It was very special.”
“It was a complicated match and we have fatigue to blame, but we managed to pull off the victory.”

AS Roma signs Baptista from Real Madrid
ROME (AP) - Serie A club AS Roma signed Brazil midfielder Julio Baptista from Real Madrid on Thursday.
Roma will pay the Spanish champion €9 million (US$13.4 million) over three years, plus possible bonuses tied to the team's performance, the club said in a statement.
Baptista signed a four-year contract and will receive €4.5 million (US$6.7 million) per season.
The 26-year-old international returned to Real last season after being loaned to English Premier League club Arsenal.

I don't like Real Madrid at all, but the main newspaper in Spain, Marca, says that Chelsea has offered 37 millions € (about 55 millions $) for Robinho. Abrahamovic must be drunken. And Calderon would be a stupid if he doesn't accept all that money."I've played in Partizan, Aston Villa, Zaragoza, Parma, Espanyol, Celta, Osasuna and Rubin Kazan, but I can't hide my feelings. When I talk to the players who were playing in Osasuna, we all think and feel the same. This club catches you and remains in one's heart the rest of one's life. You can't describe this with words. Words are insuficient."
