England vs Switzerland : Kick Off 2000GMT

    England v Switzerland
    Date: Wednesday, 6 February
    Kick-off: 2000 GMT
    Venue: Wembley Stadium

Michael Owen is expected to miss out on a place in England boss Fabio Capello's starting line-up for the Italian's first match in charge on Wednesday.

Capello had Joe Cole operating behind Wayne Rooney up front in his final training session on Tuesday.

Matthew Upson joined Rio Ferdinand in central defence, with David Bentley and Ashley Young alongside Owen Hargreaves and Steven Gerrard in midfield.
David James was in goal while the two full-backs were Wes Brown and Ashley Cole.

Capello has vowed not to tell his players who is in the team until shortly before they leave their hotel for Wembley on Wednesday afternoon.

Admittedly, it took england 45 minnutes (and perhaps a VERY stern talking to from the 'headmaster' Capello at half time) that got england going properly: in the second half, they kept possession more, and were more effectively. In Johnathon Motsam's own words, "Softly softly, catchie monkey" and thats what england did: they were (for the first goal) very patient, concentrated on passing, and got through eventually.

Im quietly confident about this england team. Capello is not scared of English press, englihs hype, english reputations, or english 'legends'. He sees a group of men that he can put to the best possible use. Im liking this italian!

I would call England's performance DECENT rather than SPECTACULAR.

That said, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney were brilliant last night
