MADRID, Spain (AP) - FC Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o was reportedly fined $17,607 by the Spanish soccer federation Saturday for singing anti-Real Madrid songs.
The federation ruled that the Cameroon international's actions during the 2005 Spanish league title celebrations were "very grave" and amounted to "initiating violence."
Eto'o, who recently set the Africa Cup of Nations scoring record, helped lead Barcelona to back-to-back titles in 2005 and '06, the same year the Catalan club also captured the Champions League trophy.
