thing is, we're all going OMG OMG OMG now, but thats only because of the result of this tackle! There have been loads of tackles as bad if not worse than this, it just so happened that maybe due to pitch condition, split second jumping out of the way, circumstance or pure LUCK a player has not been so severely injured like this.

What i mean is its not a one off incident and some serious reviewing of football laws (particularly in England where the league game is so physical) needs to be done

Well the tackle doesnt seem one that would deserve a red card because the player got injured as it wasnt deliberate by Taylor.

            Horrendous!
Martin Taylor does not deserve to step foot on a football pitch ever again!

Best wishes to Eduardo on a fast recovery!

that is assault, and that coward of a player should be banned for the rest of the season.

I know its 'disgraceful' and 'dangerous' and 'OMG look at Eduardo's leg', BUT if you look at replays, taylor gets the ball first.

however, that doesnt excuse the two footed slide tackle (which EPL is cracking down on recently). I still think though, that if eduardo hadnt been as badly injured (and he seemed to take it really well, he didnt scream inn agony or anything - maybe shock?), then taylor would only have got a yellow. just my humble opinion. It was still a dangerous tackle, but many other players try them (inc. Steven Gerrard), i just think taylor was unlucky to have the whole brunt of this recent 'two-footed challenge crack-down' on him because of the extent of eduardo's injury. I really feel for eduardo though, dont get me wrong... I just think there have been other tackles that have been worse ....

if youve noticed most of the times when players break a leg that leg is on the ground and it gets hit. taylor should get a suspension. you have to be more careful when slide tackling.

Taylor actually DOESNT get the ball first.

In my opinion a stupid tackle like this weather it was on purpose or not deserve a LONG time out. You dont just lunge at a soccer ball like that. you should show some class and not try to stop a player if u r beaten.

In my opinion this was done on purpose.

oh come off it! You're not seriously telling me Taylor went in trying to break Eduardo's leg??? It was a completely irresponsible tackle, but not one aimed at causing injury! I think taylor went in for the ball, and though he was wrong for using a two footed challenge, he had bad luck in that he was too slow, and could not deal with the pace of Eduardo. Had Eduardo been slower or taylor faster, this wouldnt have happened

having said that, its still irresponsible. also i take back what i said about taylor getting the ball first: from the angle i saw it from (behind both taylor and eduardo) it looked like taylor got the bal (especially at normal speed). however, i saw it again, slowed down and from the front, and it actually turns out that eduardo was the one that kicked the ball... sorry guys, I saw the ball change direction and assumed it was taylor since eduardo still seemed a way of at that point

i maintain that we wouldnt be making such a fuss of this (obviously) if eduardo hadnt broken his leg. Granted, the tackle was irresponsible and inexcusable, and I am sure taylor will be punished accordingly, but I also will add that i have seen MANY tackles as bad as, AND WORSE THAN, that one, but they just havent had as disastous a set of consequences(like i said, due to player reaction, pitch conditions, circumstance and just plain chance/luck)..

here's hoping eduardo gets well soon and this doesnt have a lasting impact on the career of such a talented young footballer

im not saying he broke the foot on purpose. however i am saying that this was a professional foul. no doubt in my mind.

Just look at where he steps on for gods sake, how can that be just a normal foul??

and some guy from the team has come out and said it shouldnt have even been a yellow. What an insult to a great player.

The winner in all this is Man-CHOS-tar United and thats what i hate the most.

its shit like this that makes you scared to play the game.

you dont want this to happen to anyone, especially a player in the calibre of eduardo.

I hope he recovers asap. halam bad shod ino didam!
