    Carling Cup Final

    (I did a suprah)

    Venue: Wembley Stadium
    Date: Sunday, 24 Feb
    Kick-off: 1500 GMT
    Referee: Mark Halsey (Lancashire)
UK coverage: Listen live on Radio 5 Live and the BBC website (UK users only), Watch on Sky Sports

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard and defender John Terry could miss Sunday's Carling Cup final against Tottenham.

Both players were named in the Blues squad but BBC football correspondent Jonathan Legard said: "I'm told the pair are set to be left out again."

Tottenham defender Michael Dawson and midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng are being troubled by hamstring concerns.

But Pascal Chimbonda (knee) should be fit and Ledley King is set to return after a month out with a knee problem.

              UPDATE:

apparently, Ballack and Lampard cannot play together, and ballack was not expecting to be left out.. This morning before team announcements,

Ballack: "Whoever gets left out will have to take it on the chin" *small smile*

Its the first time Grant has had the (practically) full team at his disposal. He has taken out Alex, who has been great in Terry's absence, as he has decided that terry is a big occasion performer. Also, lampard coming in to shove ballack out is a little odd.... perhaps lampard been throwing a tantrum, methinks...........

SWP is in because they think Chimbonda, playing out of position, will be vulnerable and SWP can take advantage....

Tottenham definitely playing 4-4-2. Chelsea might be playing 4-4-2, but there is concern: Drogba and Anelka have never played together before...
