As a long time Jazz fan I have to give it to the Lakers they are indeed proving to be a strong team, but the only players bolded who will make a difference is Gasol and maybe Bynum. Anyhow a lot of strong teams from the west it should make the playoffs in the western conference very entertaining this year.

1)lakers with bynum were first in the west. Bynum was a defensive beast. He was doing stuff that dont show in the stat sheet and most importantly, he is th type of center that doesnt need the bal in his hand to be effective.
2) Gasol- no comment

3) Mihm- he was the starting center for the lakers for a season and a half. He will let gasol and bynum get some rest while protecting the basket

4) One of the most important reasons the lakers were winning like crazy in december. He is EXTREMELY athletic and is a shut down defender against th opposition's small forward. He didnt even let them breath!!

Remmeber guys, the lakers were winning with DEFENSE with ariza and bynum in the lineup

The lakers were winning with OFFENSE when gasol joined them.

I dont care what happens in the regular eason. What matters the most is the playoffs. If all of those guys come back, it wont matte if the lakers have or dont have home court advantage. Every series will be over in 6 games or less

if the lakers win in the play offs it will mean they were the better team and deserved to win. good thing theres no luck involved in who advances in a playoff series unlike SOME SPORTS in which the better teams consistently lose to undeserving teams.
