Hamed Haddadi: Is he NBA material?

According to this article, he has several offers for tryouts with NBA teams and will probably play in the NBA following the Beijing Olympics.

My friend played with him throughout last summer and said his NBA comparison would be Dirk Nowitzki, a 7 footer who can shoot the 3, and plays more like a winger. I'm not sure if he can bang with NBA bodies and has the physical toughness, although he might make a decent role player somewhere.

The report is bogus and this is why:

It doesnt work that way!!!!! He needs to be drafted! This is not college basketball like how ben howland got Mbah amoute. All foreigners also need to get drafted now if yo are saying he is going to be drafted in June thats another story. Now if nobody drafts him then he can sign as a free agnet

A couple of years ago they were saying he was going to get drafted but he wasnt. Hoep this time is true

I think its bogus too, although I'm sure he has been contacted by some NBA teams for some tryouts. Anyway, he is not getting drafted this year, since his name is not in the list of foreigners whose declared for the draft:

You dont have to declare for the draft unless you are an NCAA player. Any team can draft anyone they want and basically put a leash on tht player so nobody else could touch them just like the lakers did with marc gasol and the spurs did with manu ginobili. Ginobili didnt play for 4 years after he was drafted!!!!!

Tryouts is a different story but asking him to sign, thats BS!!
