I don't see how this qualifies as the football game of the century. Surely the '94 final was more important than this as just one example.

The game widely regarded as MATCH OF THE CENTURY was:

1970 World Cup semis: Italy 4-3 West Germany (after extra time)

Catenaccio for the next 82 minutes to just keep the lead (and not even bother scoring again)....before AC Milan's West German defender Karl-Heinz Schnellinger scored in the last seconds of normal time in a last desperate West German attack time to take the game to extra time where all hell broke loose

The best part of that equalising goal ? Well with Schnellinger being an AC Milan player since 1965 was not interesting enough, he had NOT scored a goal for Milan in 222 games he had played since joining them but scored one past Italy in a WC semifinal pissing off a lot of Milanese

That said he did last 9 seasons at Milan regardless of what happened before leaving them in 1974 for one last season back in the Bundesliga before retiring, one of the most important non-Italian defenders in AC Milan history.
