Palestine shock Bahrain 2-0, Yemen conclude camp
          17 February 2006

MANAMA: Bahrain’s preparations for the AFC Asian Cup 2007 preliminary round took a hit after a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Palestine here on Thursday.

Bahrain will play their opening Group D match against Australia on Wednesday at the National Stadium. Other teams in this group are Kuwait and Lebanon with only two teams qualifying for the AFC Asian Cup 2007 to be held for the first time in four nations - Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Palestine have been bracketed in Group 'E' with China, Iraq and Singapore.

In the match, Allam put the visitors ahead in the 26th minute and substitute striker Fahad Al Atal sealed a surprising victory two minutes before full-time.

Palestine are scheduled to play another friendly against Pakistan here on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Yemen have concluded a training camp in Egypt and returned to Sana on Thursday. During this camp they played and lost two friendlies – 0-2 against Egyptian club Al Tersanah and 0-1 to Ghazal Al Mahala. Yemen take on Saudi Arabia on February 22 in the opening qualifier.

Another West Asian team Kuwait will conclude its training camp on Friday in Cyprus with a match against Polish League champions Wisla Krakow. Kuwait have played three friendlies so far and the results have been a 2-2 draw against Singapore, a 2-1 victory over Jordan and a 0-1 defeat to Serbian club Red Star Belgrade.

Palestine has serious potential as a national football team. There are Palestinian players playing in leagues all around the world. I honestly believe that with some stability (they seem to have a different squad for every match) and confidence, this team can be a top 10 or 15 side in Asia in due course.

Im happy, Bahraini's are all stuck up rich ass holes, who betrayed Iran
Palestians are all poor with nothing else in their lives, hopefully they can orchestrate their anger into football.
