While I really dislike Iraq as Iraqi fans/ people are some of the worst I've ever encountered, they really had clear cut chances to put the game away. I thought Australia played brilliantly at times. lol @ People saying Younis is the best striker in Asia, he missed an absolute sitter. Noor Sabri can't kick for his life and made some absolute horrid mistakes resulting in almost an open goal! lol @ Iraqis saying he's the best keeper in Asia. Nashat showed nothing. Mullah Hawar showed nothing. But Australia needs to work on their defense.

Kewell showed why he's the class of Asian Football ...

Kewell will forever be one of the biggest wastes of money ever in terms of players from asia.

        Pro-Iraqi Irish pitch invaders fined

        June 02, 2008 02:06pm

TWO Irishmen have been fined $1500 each for running onto Suncorp Stadium during the Socceroos' win over Iraq on Sunday night.

Barry Andrew Cruise, 23, and Rory Connor Hayes, 29, appeared in custody in the Brisbane Magistrate's Court today where they both pleaded guilty to entering Suncorp Stadium without approval.

Police said the pair ran onto the field and danced together before they were restrained by police and security staff.

The incident stopped play for about two minutes in the dying stages of the game.

They were fined $1500 each and neither had a conviction recorded.

very true, although in my opinion, it was still a bit early to come down! i guess winning the asian cup was the peak before they started going downhill

i did prefer a team like iraq over the likes of qatar or bahrain anyday!! not only would they be better representatives for asia incase they qualify to the worldcup but also they play fair and dont use dirty tactics and dont have half therir squad filled with naturalized citizens!

Disagree, Iran has its own destiny in their own hands...

Were 2points from nr1 spot in the group...1 win can turn the table all in favour to Iran...

Iraq is really bye bye...They are 6points behind Australia

But as ussual Iran has gotten themselves into a hole they will have to get out of

We might manage to get to next stage of qualification with luck or by our individual brilliance but next stage we have NO CHANCE against the likes of Australia, Japan and Saudi Arabi.
but of course i hope Daei learns from his mistakes.

Bro, Iraq doesn't even have to win all it's remaining games to qualify under some circumstances. Anyway, Iraq has 2 more home games and I'm confident we can beat Australia & Qatar in Dubai.

Not really "home" games unfortunately . Insha'Allah Iraq will make it out of the group. You guys had no luck against Australia. The support your team would get if you played your games in Cairo would be insane.

i did rather have those arrogant aussies and iraq than those unfair unsportsman grassrolling persian gulf countries who only use african players to play football and their arab players to play mental games!

so in the 2nd round of the qualifiers does only 1 team from each group qualify to the third round or is it the top two?
                            Go Cows!

Dont get me wrong...Seing Qatar Eliminated and less Arab teams in the 2nd round is a fantastic thing for us...By Arab's i mean the grassrolling one's

Iraq plays soccer and thats what we want.....I do hope Iraq gets on track by beating Australia this Saturday

I do hope to see Australia and Iraq go through, But its by far a hard task for Iran and Iraq to make the 2nd round....

Not only Iraq, But Iran too my friend

I do hope that Iraq beats Australia in Dubai...Their chance's would all of a sudden look prettier depending on the China-Qatar match...

Hopefully the team can repeat the good performance in Dubai and convert those chances into goals. Emad choking with the NT has became a usual scene, I hope he doesn’t start on Saturday.
