Look. Its a known fact, he has said he wants to play for Franco's team someday for ages. The question was WHEN. No surprises if he moves. Manchester United will continue and keep on winning even without him. Ronaldo leaving us is not a tragedy. No sir.
1958 was a tragedy but United kept going. A disgruntled George Best left us in 1974 and we were relegated a few months later via a Denis Law back heel at Old Trafford when he was then playing for Man City after having scored 200+ goals for United and then let go in 1973. But United survived and came back. The 1970s and 1980s were dark days, but we survived and the 1990s we became THE team. We always do and we always will.
So if Ronaldo does leave, then good riddance. I wont shed a tear, I'll be sad that he could have achieved all what he wants with United under the guidance of CQ, Sir Alex, Giggsy, Scholes, and Gazza with a whole battalion of young players around him.
If he leaves, I wont be bothered as much as some people will be. But I have supported United when Ronaldo was actually a Brazilian World Cup winner to be moved by ONE individual.
So Cristiano Ronaldo, if you do leave - and now I am certain you will maybe this year or maybe next year if the inevitable can be delayed - dont forget what this club did for you and what you became wearing the 7 shirt. You were public enemy no.1 in England, but in the Red part of Manchester you were one of us and we protected you and cheered you when rest of England booed you and wanted you dead after 2006. You were a raw jewel at Sporting, what could have been made brilliant or remained raw and unspectacular without proper care. Here you became a diamond who people always have something to say about. Scorn or worship.
and if you do leave, good bye and good luck. You will need it at Real Madrid mate.sigpic
