first of all there dumbarse captian told the coach he dosent wana play, the player that did the foul was playing in the wrong position, ribery got injured and went of, the goal was a pen, the france was getting back and another dumbarse goal from a deflection so i disagree with u.

you are a defender. you see the opponents forward just in front of you 1 on 1 with the keeper. its the first half. he has around 50% chance to score. which option would you choose:

a) try to outrun him and save the ball. even if he scores you will still have 11 players and can equalize
b) foul him, get a red card, concede a penalty which has 80% chance of going in, and kill your teams chances to equalize

damn its a hard decision.

well since there's main options in a penalty, i'd say the chances of saving one is 33%

nothing is ever definite. all that needs to be done is italy getting a lucky goal and spain not finishing and bam italy will go through. chances are slim though.
