Trying to compare iran and turkey is ridiculous. Based on these results:

Iran 0-Syria 0
Iran 2-Kuwait 2
IRan 0-UAE 0
Iran 1-UAE 0

Turkey would beat these teams easy by 3 goals. Today, Turkey was very unlucky and found themselves on the wrong end of some poor reffering. we will come back and show our class against czech and swiss and make it out of the group stage.

you know what at during the world cup i was really pissed at how iran was
but now that i look back. They played very well especially against mexico in the first half. the second half they were just not there. against portugal they are just too much of a good team. We still played great defensively and in midfield in that game and against angola we played really good we just didnt finish our chances

Come on man, I was cheering for Turkey too, but Portugal hit the woodwork three times plus Volkan made a lot of good saves.

yea, i'll admit, the woodwork kept us in the game. But once Gokhan Zan came out, our D opended up, and servat was playing with a sprained knee aswell. No doubt Portugal were the better team, but I feel we deserved something from that game. We'll live to fight on another day and hopefully on wedsneday, get back into form with a win over the damn swiss

Sorry, but Turkey deserved more like a 4-0 defeat, they did not have much teeth upfront either.

that game was exactly like our game in 06. and I wanted to make the same thread

but it was only tukeys 1st half that was just like iran.

in the 2nd half they fixed their problems, and improved. portugal was too strong for them though.

iran was the other way around.
the first half was just acceptable, but there were many things that were not good. in the 2nd half however iran became even worse. iran had 11 men defending, and they were not really good at it. portugal scoring was the logical consequence

besides that turkey could run for 90 minutes, 30 mins more than iran.
