Russia totally outclassed the Dutch. The standard of their football in this whole tournament has been even better than Hollands...even in the 4-1 defeat against Spain they were impressive for long periods
Spain are better than Italy in every respect, apart from possibly defence and even there Italy are understrength. The only way Italy will beat Spain is through luck or negativity. Although they seem to have done that before once or twice...

These mental psychological things are an excuse. Face it, Spain and such countries with good leagues but brashy national teams lack grit and focus. When things dont go your way, its about grinding results out and getting the job by one way or another. Efficiency and the killer push at the final stage will up-end misdirected and short-lived flair any day.
That is exactly why Italy, Germany, Brazil, have more world/continental titles than anyone although same can be applied to Argentina as well. No what style they played, they were damned efficient enough to win it. Days will come when things go bad, and that is where grit and pushing the extra yard comes.
That is exactly what Spain and Holland have ALWAYS lacked - and that's exactly why Holland failed today. Prove us wrong Spain because it's about f***ing time they did.sigpic

i agree.
