Big news. Mohammad Amini has announced that he will be leaving Monaco and moving to mid table French club Nancy

I think this is a smart move for him as he would still be getting rotational minutes next season at Monaco as they are currently one of the Top 5 clubs outside of the NBA. On top of that, Monaco doesn’t necessarily have the reputation of developing young players with draft aspirations since they’re primarily filled with veteran players. However nearly every other French league team can afford to give a young star player big minutes throughout the season

Getting consistent minutes at Nancy as a more featured player will be a great opportunity for him to play and develop against senior players as he prepares for the 2025 draft

Monaco fans on Twitter are upset their coach for not trusting young players enough and are very disappointed they are losing him.

Exactly why this move was necessary for him:
“After Wemby and Risacher who left ASVEL before the DRAFT, Amini who left Monaco... It's the new fashion!!!”

now he’ll get to expand his game and gain attention

He was shown boarding the plane with Monaco for Game 2 of the French league playoffs. He’ll finish out this season with Monaco during their playoff run before joining up with Nancy

This means he will probably get to win a French League championship title with the club before departing

Still no other new legionnaires in basket?

Btw what is weird is that we have more legionnaires in volleyball and handball and we do worse as NT..

He just went off and led the u21 team to the u21 Finals in the playoffs. Scored 18 of his 30 points in the 4th quarter alone. After the finals he’ll rejoin the senior team for the rest of their playoff run. Legit chance he wins the French Championship for both u21 and Senior level this season at the same time

Would be great if he actually joins the team in the G League. Could be a fantastic opportunity for him to be scouted for the NBA

Hadn’t heard about him before but did some quick searching and he seems quite intriguing and the type of player NBA teams like now. At 6’10” he shot a very strong 38.4% from 3 and averaged 8.2 points and 5.2 rebounds in just 21 minutes per game playing for Foolad. Needs to put on more weight but that’s common for many young big men

Got the Rafael Barlowe stamp of approval too. Barlowe is very well connected in draft scouting by and has a good reputation of suggesting who will and won’t be successful in the NBA

Really hope he actually joins the Texas Legends roster so we can also track him and watch his games

Surprised to see an iranian jump from Iran to the US. We also have Parsa Fallah there. that's 3 young prospects, and he have a Heydari something in iran (don't know what he is doing lately)

When you're 6'10" and can play basketball - many doors will open.
Americans are good in that way, that if you are truly exceptional they will accept you. In Europe you have to be in their circle, have the right agents, warm the right hands...

No he is just joining their G League affiliate. He’d need to enter the NBA Draft and be selected to actually get to join any team in the league.

it does technically mean the Mavs will get a more direct opportunity at scouting him and his development. They can choose to direct their G League affiliate to prioritize his minutes and development and perhaps build a close relationship with him and his agent

He’s fair game for all NBA teams once he does enter the draft though

What is surprising is that TM don't qualify for the u17 u19 world cup, iran and usa have no relation, how did they scout and transfer them
