He will play a russian for the 2nd round

If I am lookng at it correctly, he lost to the Russian player Mikalal Halak 6-2, 6-2.

- efftetah of 88 new or renovated tennis courts through Iran

- Kasra Rahmani, 18 years old, reach the main draw of Tunisia tournament. First time for an Iranian player outside tournaments in Iran

- Kasra Rahmani trained with Daniil Medvedev, world number 5, 3 weeks ago in France

Yasamin Yazdani travelled to India to participate to new dehli itf junior tournament. She is the 4th best ranked in that tournament.

After that she will play the Pune tournament where she will be the 9th best ranked.

The points she will get there will help to secure her presence in next year grand slams

What happened to that girl tennis player who went to college in the US?

Meshkat Safi is playing in the senior tour, she is ~300th in the itf ranking, mostly winning qualifications rounds and losing her first games in the first round of the main draw.

I am surprised to see her struggling to participate in tournament of western countries while Kasra Rahmani played in France Italy among others this year

Yeah I was just thinking about her. She made headlines making it to the 2022 AO girls tournament, but lost in the first round. She also took a picture with Rafa Nadal. I think I read somewhere that she didn't have much resources or pretty much is coming out of pocket for the most part.

She won the first round but lost the second. She also lost the first round at Roland Garros.

Considering she lost a lot of games and isn't really tall, I don't expect her to have a world class level but hopefully she will get as far as she can to open the path for others. That's why it is important.

Except if we have the huge luck to have a phenomenon out of nowhere (like Serbia with Djokovic), First step should be to increase the quantity and our presence (we start from zero as even tokhmi countries have more and better ranked players)

I would not compare us to Serbia in that regards. We need proper infrastructure in place to attract young people to the sport. Additionally, tennis has always been a sport for nobles... if you have money then you can play. That's not the case with soccer or koshty.
Look at the backgrounds of some of our superstars in these 2 sports alone. For example, Khodadad Azizi came from some of the most humble places in Mashad. Or Beiro slept on a bare floor for many days before he became a somebody with PP.

Serbia didn't have much presence in tennis before djokovic. Ivanovic and jankovic came more or less during Djokovic time, maybe a little earlier. They weren't a tennis nation like USA, Australia, Sweden, France Russia..

Also everywhere in the world, tennis players come the middle/upper class. You won't see the like of Azizi or Beiro becoming a pro tennis player anywhere. However some countries like France mades it more affordable.

We need infrastructure yes, but we also need most coverage for tennis so people get the culture of tennis and get motivated. Even Tajikistan shows tennis games while we are showing replay of Albania/Belgium or Leganes/Rayo vallecano!
It will fuel our future success and once one Iranian will start to pick, it will be a bigger boost
