A summary about Iran tennis :
- Different age category national tournament in kish (u12 u14 u16 u18)
- On the senior tour, our best ranked players are Kasra Rahmani (18) for men and Meshkat Safi (20) for women. Both generally win the 3 rounds of qualifications to lose on the 1st or 2nd round in the main draw. Like most iranian players, she plays tournaments close to Iran or without too much visa headache (turkey, uae, india, tunisia.. ). Kasra Rahmani is an exception as he often plays in west Europe (as he seems to be part of Italian piatti academy). For example, he recently play and won several games at Manacor, home of Nadal academy.
- On the junior tour, our best hope is Yasaman Yazdani (16). Her ranking is around 200 and she can get a participation in grand slams this year or next year at worse. For boys, Kiarash Sadeghi (14) is a good hope. He played in young talents tournaments in France and Germany last year. Like Rahmani, he doesn't seem to have visa issue as his name appears on spain's manacor tournament this month.
- Kasra Rahmani has a decent chance to approach the 200/300 to enter atp tournaments (1st division) at least in 5-7 years. Being in West Europe in a renowned academy could help him. He also seems to have a decent size for tennis.
- I don't see such breakthrough for Meshkat Safi despite her huge experience in the junior tour and some months spent in the US academy. She is already 20, seems limited to tournaments near Iran and her size can be a setback.
- I am a little more optimistic for Yasaman Yazdani and Kiarash Yazdani, considering their age and access to West Europe for the latter
