A summary about Iran tennis :
    • Different age category national tournament in kish (u12 u14 u16 u18)
    • On the senior tour, our best ranked players are Kasra Rahmani (18) for men and Meshkat Safi (20) for women. Both generally win the 3 rounds of qualifications to lose on the 1st or 2nd round in the main draw. Like most iranian players, she plays tournaments close to Iran or without too much visa headache (turkey, uae, india, tunisia.. ). Kasra Rahmani is an exception as he often plays in west Europe (as he seems to be part of Italian piatti academy). For example, he recently play and won several games at Manacor, home of Nadal academy.
    • On the junior tour, our best hope is Yasaman Yazdani (16). Her ranking is around 200 and she can get a participation in grand slams this year or next year at worse. For boys, Kiarash Sadeghi (14) is a good hope. He played in young talents tournaments in France and Germany last year. Like Rahmani, he doesn't seem to have visa issue as his name appears on spain's manacor tournament this month.
Hard to make predictions as in tennis promising players can completely crash out or under the radar can emerge out of nowhere. Injuries also makes it harder. However he is my opinion :
    • Kasra Rahmani has a decent chance to approach the 200/300 to enter atp tournaments (1st division) at least in 5-7 years. Being in West Europe in a renowned academy could help him. He also seems to have a decent size for tennis.
    • I don't see such breakthrough for Meshkat Safi despite her huge experience in the junior tour and some months spent in the US academy. She is already 20, seems limited to tournaments near Iran and her size can be a setback.
    • I am a little more optimistic for Yasaman Yazdani and Kiarash Yazdani, considering their age and access to West Europe for the latter

Some days ago, we had Airik Abedinzadeh who reached the Kenya tournament final (ITF junior tour). He is only 15.

Also Ramtin Ramtin Rafeei (14 years old) had the best asian ranking.

Not directly related to Iran, even if I wonder when such thing will happen for us :

A 19 year old girl from Philippines just won 2 back to back game at Miami WTA 1000 tournaments, her 2nd win was against Australian open 2025 winner!

She is the only tennis representative from Philippines and the country isn't known to a country of tennis.

She won against Swiatek, number 2! That's 3 wins in a row against grand slams winner. For mens, a young from Hong Kong is also coming strong on the senior tour. Asian players are popping out of nowhere!

Here in Canada, there are Asian parents who will put all their money and effort into making their kid a superstar in tennis.
For every one of the example you named, there are 1000 who failed.

Most Iranian parents don't do this sort of thing.

Yes that's the case everywhere I guess, at least in tennis countries. But sometimes, there is one talent that pop up out of nowhere in a random country
