Why aren't we stronger in athletics in Olympics? It doesn't require that much money we have tracks in every football stadiums and tons of worse countries have good results.

Our para athletes show we can do it

Honestly you have to have a good doping system like Italy.

10 years ago Italy was a nobody in athletics.
All of a sudden every Olympics they peak perfectly for the tournament and compete very well.

The elite nations control the doping agencies and allow their own to get all sorts of exemptions for treatments that would be illegal usually.

Uzbekistan dopes like crazy. Look London 2012.

Kenya and Morocco do well in mid-long distance running. It's in their blood, like wrestling is for us.

If I have to guess, it's because of the competition. The Paralympics has a lower threshold than the normal Olympics, so it is easier to win. I could be wrong.

I guess it plays + all the categories but still the difference is huge between Olympics when we have only 2 participants (in a competitive race like 100m) and paralympics we have 12 with several medals/one or two golds
