    The NHL 2024-2025 playoffs landscape

Please tell us if you follow a particular team!

The NHL playoff picture has started to come into focus. Some teams have banked enough points to scorching starts that they're practically locks to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Some teams have made up significant ground despite early-season struggles. And a few teams are looking for something, anything to give them hope that the season isn't lost.

We have the Gulls, their AHL affiliate here in San Diego. I have been trying to motivate them to do better. They won the Calder Cup a few years ago as Norfolk Admirals, before the Anaheim organization bought the team and relocated them to California.

I grew up a diehard fan of the NJ Devils which I was in attendance at a lot of the Stanley cup games for in the early 2000’s when we won.

I fell off from hockey around the time I got really big into soccer right around the NHL lock out szn in 2004 then in my college years (2012-16) got back into it again more and more.

Hockey in general is a super fun sport both to play and watch….i have a lot of appreciation for the game and how challenging it is and yet how guys can do stuff on the ice that is just insane.

The Devils are doing very well these days (January 2025). Placed top three in
the Metropolitan Division together with the Capitals and the Hurricanes.

                Interesting news report:

The New Jersey Devils are one of the most high-octane teams in the NHL, and one metric drives that point home.
