Dutch international midfielder Rafael van der Vaart confirmed on Monday that he has sealed a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

"Last night everything came together, and I am now moving to Real Madrid," the 25-year-old Hamburg captain announced on his website.

According to reports the playmaker has agreed a five-year deal worth 13 million euros (20 million dollars) with the Spanish champions.

"As everybody might know I have always wanted to move to Spain, because I have a strong bond with that country. Now I'm going to play for Real Madrid - it's a dream comes true!

"Tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon I will be presented at Real Madrid. This will be the start of a new chapter in my life. I will do everything to help the team and the club to win trophies."

Van der Vaart, who has won over 50 caps for his country and scored 12 goals, joined Hamburg in 2005, scoring 29 goals in 74 Bundesliga matches.

Exactly what i was thinking. It is the re emergence of the Dutch superstars.
I think this batch of Dutch players may be better then the ones of the late 90's early 00's.

Van Persie, Kuyt, Babel, Van Nistelrooy, Sneijder, Robben, Van Der Vaart, Hentelaar. Its looking good for the Dutch

great for holland , bad for spain!

I don't understand why schuster loves dutch so much , surely Diego of werder would have been a better signing.

Come to think of it Blatter's 6+5 rule makes sense , but then arsenal would suck

lol Van der Vaart probably payed Diabi to tackle Sneider badly so that real would need him and sign him.
