BAGHDAD: Iraq's national football team will face a line-up of some of Europe's top players in a friendly scheduled for October 6 in Rome.
Iraq Football Association President Hussein Saeed said the AFC Asian Cup winners will be pitted against the big names of European countries.
"This match, organised by an Italian humanitarian association, will see our national team play against the stars of European football, including Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo and AC Milan's Brazilian Kaka," he said.
"The revenue will go to orphans in Iraq and the children of our country suffering from incurable diseases."
Iraq failed to make it to the fourth and final round of 2010 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers after finishing third in the group behind Australia and Qatar.
