As I said, missing a drugs test without a proper reason is as bad as failing it. Even if he did take something or not, he still got a ban (and cost us the chance of retaining the title in 2003/04) because of his own stupidity.

Rio needs Vidic to form the best defensive pairing for United since Bruce and Pallister - and certainly them two right now are the best defensive pairing in the world right now.

oh and just for the record: Rio Ferdinand was banned for MISSING a drug test, and not because he failed a drug test

United conceded just 22 goals (and scored 80) in the whole Premier League campaign of 38 games to have the best goals scored, goal difference, and goals conceded numbers, and also conceded only 6 goals in the whole Champions League campaign from group stages all the way to the final (just 2 in K.O stages) - which is a total of 13 games.

He did his job superb. Its not like teams were bombarding the goal if the defence messed up, but evem in those rare moments a 37 year old keeper pulled off some stunners - but they were far in between.
