i think his success in the nba depends 33% on him, 33% on the coach, and 33% on O.J. Mayo. If the coach plays him, he works his ass off, and oj can draw his defender on every possession, this guy could have a hell of a career.

I would have to disagree with you. He was successful because of his tenacity and hard work. He was not a very "skilled" player. He was a great athlete, but I wouldnt use the word "skilled". In my humble opinion, the most talented athlete (in a team sport) Iran has ever had would be Ali Karimi. Now if he had the tenacity and dedication that Ali Daei had (or some could argue, has) he could have been something very very special in the world of football.

Sorry, I have to disagree with you. Karimi has the given talent but unfortunately he wasnt blessed with the other more imporant aspects, he is a different issue and I deffinately wouldnt say his skills exceeds Mr. Daei just because his type of 'skill' is more entertaining to the avg. spectator.
Inorder to achieve something great which is what Mr.Daei has done in allot of aspect you have to have all three( Skill(Talent), Hard Work and dedication). Millions of ppl around the world have the Hard work and Dedication, but what stops them from becoming something great?...Its Talent or skills

He's gona have a tough time fitting in with the current guys on the Memphis roster, although I'm guessing he'll probably end up befriending a foreign guy like Jaric. Or maybe Hakim Warrick, because his name is Hakim lol. I don't think he's even Muslim.

wow !!! speechless! great great news, I knew this would happen but didnt think it'd happen so early, I dont follow basketball that much, can someone give me some info about his team? are they any good?

They're a weak team, but have a very strong nucleus of young players, and can be one of the top teams in the league in 2-3 years assuming the players stay and develop together. Hadadi can be a big name NBA player on a very good team assuming he develops well with this core in the next few years, so its a good situation for him.

Also, I think he's better off in a city like Memphis without all the Iranian hype and nightlife that would distract him, since he's known to be a big partyer.

I think we should all email the Memphis team and ask them how we can purcahse a Hadadi jersey just to show them the interest he has brought.
