the high profile (yes high profile you heard me) match between israel and greece is becoming a more interesting affair..
there are currently protests around greece opposing israels acts and involvement in the gaza strip..i will post pics once i find them
aside from that..these two teams now play a huge group deciding match..
expect a very hostile environment in the athens tie..and if u ask me..i hope the greeks keep to their reputations and make it very difficult for the israelis..i hope they hold banners saying "ISRAEL=MURDERERS" or anti israel signs n chants since it will make it more passionate...its a rivalry baby!!!
I wonder why greeks dislikes Israel?????? In 1948 Greece was the only European country that was opposed to the creation of Isreal and i heard most greeks are pro Palestine.

Greeks are fair ppl

they suffered some under the Turks

Indian suffered under the British, they supported Palestine

Ireland suffered under England, they still support Palestine and even had Hezbollah speakers come to the country

most ppl who have experienced some sort of oppression support the Palestinians because they know what it was like

20-25% of Palestinians are Greek Orthodox. Many Palestinians actually have Greek last names.

lol it was actually in 2006 exactly during the wc germany, we were in our hotel and there were some serbians there for the wc as well, and they said how serbia and montenegro split the day before, but they played as one team for the wc and split afterwards

Sorry I beg to differ.

India may have only recognised Israel in 1991, but the reason they seemed pro-Arab was purely because of Nehru having many friends in the Arab world, but their show of solidarity was pure show while they were doing business, trade and defence cooperation since the 1950s behind the scenes.

Among Asian countries, Indians and their government are the most pro-Israel around. Maybe Indian Muslims are concerned over Palestine, but they are a minority anyway...the rest of India are all (or mostly) pro-Israel and always have been.

1-1 in perhaps the most boring game of all time..the home fans were booing both israel and greece and there was nothing to note from this match...it was a battle between the stubborn coaches (otto and kashtan)..this wednseday v.s. israel in crete will determine pretty much who will go through...we are still in first after today

dont worry guys..we will be through ...but what the hell happened to iran!!..a n.korea and saudi win isnt what i hoped for..so iran getting to 2010 is a longshot??
