Holland were down to 10 men at the end of the first half, with their goalkeeper Stekelenberg sent off. That allowed Australia to equalise with a penalty and then win the game in second half.

Van Persie, Van der Vaart, and Huntelaar were starting but two of them were subbed off in middle of the game when Holland went down to 10 men.
