1 shot on goal is actually fantastic considering Anorthosis were sitting in their own half the whole game. Either way, this is only his second match in an Anorthosis shirt and he got subbed in at half time in a CL opener. Coach has faith in him.Previously known as "IraqiFootball"

In the end...geographic and geopolitical terms are all artificial anyway.
"Middle East"...the name itself shows its a designation relative to something else. Its to the 'east' of somewhere (Europe) but not too far to the east (that designation, the Far East is left for China, Japan, Korea, etc). Why would anyone from Iran, Turkey or Egypt or Arab countries consider themselves Middle Eastern? Is there anything in Iranian history that corresponds to that term? Did our ancestors consider themselves Middle Easterners, or related to Arabs and Turks in any sense? I dont think so...its just that the imposition of Western world views on us and our own inferiority complex is what makes us accept the term "Middle Eastern".
The funny thing is, some people have so much of an inferiority complex that they try so hard to not be considered Middle Eastern, but not because the term is an inaccurate and artifical description, but because it lumps them not with their European ideals (idols?). Yes, I'm talking about some Turks.
Many Turks dont realize that as fairskinned as they can be, they will never be considered European...as a matter of fact, "European" can be designated as the anti-Turk. The fact that a small bit of Turkey is to the west of the Bosporus strait is insignificant, Europeans will consider Armenians and Georgians (who are located geographically further from mainland europe than even Turkey) European before they ever consider Turks as such. It's all due to historic reasons, and all labels/names are forged out of historical circumstances and thus are not set in stone.
