this is the best way for haddadi to develop, haddadi is definately a diamond in the rough, and should not be rushed...true centers are hard to find and sometimes there are problems with their efficiency and weight (some dominant bigmen gain weight very easily)..players like gasol already have a great deal of experience at top bball levels, haddadi shouldnt be rushed, if it means him going to the D-League it can only be for his benefit..

while we dont know all the grit and grin that goes on backstage, im sure the grizzlies management are happy with haddadi and want the best for him, they wouldnt spend 1.5million this year for a rookie from Iran...

taking this into consideration..if the NBA and the D-League were to not work out for him..would you guys be dissapointed to see him in the euroleague?

      Can someone answer my question?
isnt NBA where the highest level of club level basketball is played? if thats the case lets say its English league for football, and I never see a coach taking in a player from somewhere preseason and say this guys is not ready for EPL, I wont play him this season at all!
The way I see it, these guys need to get over themselves.

but i guess the D-league would be the equivalent of if an EPL player were sent to the B-C teams..plus in the NBA some players (PG's, SG's are a dime a dozen) while a good center is hard to find...i hope haddadi doesnt complain or get angry, it will only make things worse

Spanoulis was a b*tch at the rockets...look where that got him

Here's your source, the head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies himself who thinks that Haddadi has no place playing meaningful minutes in this year's rotation:
since Hamed Haddadi is clearly not ready?

the reason i ask for source is cuz u haven't said ONE good thing about haddadi even before he came here.....and u still havent sent a link, video, article or nothing but i'll take ur word for it

and its not about being a haddadi bandwagon we just hope for the best and i do believe in him....he's a good player, he just needs to learn NBA
no one ever said he's gonna come and take nba by storm

you on the other hand talk like he sucks and he shouldnt have came......so then tell me what did all the experienced professional scouts saw in him to sign him??? without even giving him a trial first....
i guess u and the forum boys are more of an expert

yea i know ur like the rest of the americans...who think the rest of the world sux and only skinny black kids are good at basketball....so u wont be happy til he becomes good. Which is fine....i didnt expect people to support him unless if he proves himself. The thing is that its sad that u dont support ur own country man especially for being such a huge basketball fan, u should be happy that finally an iranian who came from a place of NO infrastructure, NO practice among the best in the world....and actually made it to a league like NBA. But no instead u take the easy route of saying "he has no chance" just so that when he doesnt make it......u can come and say "i told u so" like that proves your an expert or something.

Then perhaps you should revisit my previous posts where I said on numberous occasions that Haddadi was a big time talent capable of being a solid NBA big man after improving his physical strength and conditioning issues.

We all hope for the best for him. If we didn't, we wouldn't waste precious time from our lives watching his team's boring games hoping that the coach maybe plays him for 3 minutes at the end of the game when they're down by 30.

Once again, you're putting words into my mouth. Please show me 1 post where I have ever said that he "sucks". If you can't, I would expect an apology from you. Time and time again, I have said that he is a very skilled big man who can develop into being a very good NBA big man once he gains the necessary experience. I just don't think he has the necessary conditioning or experience yet to contribute at a high NBA level at the moment. But that doesn't mean he won't have it later in the season, or next year, which is what I actually predict.

So now you want to also generalize me not only as "the rest of the americans", but basically as a racist who only thinks black kids are good at basketball? You should be ashamed of yourself. When me and persianbruin had a discussion as to who was the greatest small forward of all time, I told hiim that I thought it was Larry Bird, who happens to be white in case you don't know. By the way, a non black, white Spaniard center had 27 points and 16 rebounds for the Grizzlies last night. And another white Latvian center on the Warriors had 16 points and 22 rebounds. But hey, I think they suck because they're not skinny black kids. Get real.

I understand his background and the infrastructure he came from. Which is why I think he is not ready to perform yet, but will surprise a lot of people once he is accustomed to the league and physically ready to perform. Please show me when I have ever said "he has no chance"? Once again, looks like you're putting words in my mouth. For the 100th time, he will not have any serious opportunities to show what he can do in an important game this year, based on what the coach has said. Does that mean we don't all support him and wish the best for him? No. Does that mean we have kept our expectations low to be realistic for this season? Yes.

Finally, you asked me for a source and I gave it to you. The next time you decide to put words in my mouth as to what I said, I expect a source from you as well to a previous post where I said what you claim I said. Putting words into people's mouths, or trying to intentionally misinterpret what they said is not cool.

                    babak,

im not trying to argue with you or anything but i've only heard negative things from u on haddadi and thats what i concluded from ur posts....now i dont keep up with who said what and when....i can only make judgements on what i see and remember. So anyway if u say u have faith in him then cool cuz i thought u didnt .....but if u say u do then i believe u. end of story. thanx for the link.

he's just having a hard time catching the pace of nba

if he does that, then he'll be a great player...he has all the right qualities of a good center

I think it will be good if he goes to the D-League.

A lot of teams send their young players to the D-League for a few games just so that they can get some good playing time. Thats what its for, its called the "Developmental League."

Let him go there, get some good minutes, get some expereince playing with bigger bodies. Its better than sitting on the bench and not being a factor or not even being dressed. It looks like Memphis has no immediate plans of using him any time soon. They got Marc Gasol, who had a huge game a few days ago, Darko Milicic, and good power fowards such as Hakim Warrick and rookie Darrel Arthur who starts.

In this case, he will get better in the D-League and be more confident, which could in turn help his NBA cause in the long run.

I agree. The only issue I see is that I don't know if he could handle living in North Dakota for a while. He's probably home sick enough as it is in Memphis, imagine if he had to move to North Dakota. The guy would be beyond miserable.
