oki suprah if you are looking who had the better season then here's my conclusion who should win the award:
IKER CASILIAS!!!!!
Goalkeepers have barely won the award before So I'm not so sure. Not even Oliver Kahn, Peter Schmeichel, Petr Cech, have won the award for what they did in some amazing seasons they had.
Only one goalkeeper in Lev Yashin has EVER won the Ballon d'Or and that too in 1963. So Casillas getting it would be a real surprise.
1.Ronaldo, 2.Torres, 3.Messi....maybe Torres will take it because of playing a huge part in winning the eurocup..but i think ronaldo will take it because..well...he had an outstanding season last year
crystiano had an impressive scoring season for man u. thats pretty much where it ends. he did eff to the all at euro. messi didnt have copa america but he is playing good in world cup qualifying. messi did not win anything because barcelona are a crappy team. messi was WAY more important to barcelona then to crystiano. barcelona would have lost maybe 40 games without messi but crystiano added unnecessary goals to the score sheet against fulham. THAT is why messi should win it. simply because he is more of an asset to his respective team.

Stop self-flagellating yourself over Fulham will ya ?
No
if a winger scoring 42 goals in one season doesn't win player of the year, it's a mockery of the sport
he was an ultra center forward for most of the season and you know it. but it still is impressive how he scored 42 goals. but as i said, that is not enough when you suck for your national team. it proves that its the english league that is letting him score all those goals more than his ability to score because he cannot regularly score against other sides.
