    [IRANIAN BASKETBALL] Transfer News

    * Samad Nikkhah Bahrami was released a few weeks ago by Cholet. This was because they realised that they competed in the ULEB Eurocup in which Israeli teams participate and therefore Samad's inability to participate would be using up a valuable place in their roster.

Samad didn't give up though and asked Pau-Orthez, another French team if he could train with them in order to keep high fitness levels before he found a new club. He had an offer from a Chinese club a few days ago but declined. Pau-Orthez released an American player on their roster, freeing up a foreign slot on their team and decided to sign Samad. He has now brough his wife and kids to Pau and is loving it.

    * Today Qingdao DoubleStar signed an Iranian international Amir Amini, some of you will remember him from the olympics. This team competes in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He is relatively young (born in '85) and this will be a great experience for him. He will be playing alongside Amar McCaskgill, a former NBA player.

    * Another signing today in the CBA was that of Kamran Jamshidvand. Jamshidvand is a former TM Captain, he is 28 years old and played most of his career with Saba Battery. Could be seen as a odd signing, especially considering the fact he was a Saba reserve, but nevertheless signed a one-year deal with Shaanxi Kylins.

IR does not only ruin ppl's lives within Iran, but outside too, real shame about Samad not being about to play in the ULEB. I wish him the best at Pau.

Thanks for the news. China also has a good league, so hopefully more of our players can get signed in Europe and China.

samad should hit up nba teams for tryouts or go to D-league

i think he can make it but he needs a chance...its true there are lots of nba players LIKE him (his size, skills, etc...) BUT it doesnt mean he can't make it...one thing NBA players lack nowdays is shooting skills and samad can ball up....

Many American basketball critics are starting to say that players who are considered the best in their continent such as Haddadi in Asias are no better than a lot of American NCAA players. I just hope that Haddadi can prove them wrong because he has had a shakey star so far.

I think its good we have opened the doors and sending our players to China for example, it will improve our team melli along the way having experience from all around the world.

Hadadi & Nikhah playing in USA & France is also good.

But i hope we open our doors to other good leagues too.

Thanks for the updates Prince of Persian jan.

thats true, pretty much a sure way of beating USA in international ball is hoping their FG and FT% is darn awful..i remember v.s. Greece in 06..wade, anthony, howard and all were missing FT even 2 in a row
