The whole point of this discussion was that Holland over the years have been most unlucky and then u bring up Spain again. Come on man...If u have watched football ever and know its history u will know that Holland will always be named the best country never to win the World Cup.
If u name the Spanish greats i know i can outdo you with the Dutch greats

Well I do agree with u. The Dutch have been unlucky, but Spain I believe have always been the stronger side who has been unlucky. The Dutch were unlucky to get knocked out of the WC early and especially the Euro's. They were by far the best team in the Euro's in the Group Stage, destroying Italy and France.

fernando hierro
manuel sanchis

all former real madrid players.

I agree with both of ur comments, BUT NOW i believe both the Dutch and the Spanish have been the unluckiest. The past few years the Spanish have been unlucky, but maybe overall the Dutch have, but now (before Spain's Euro victory) both are.

there are football legends and then good football players.
spain has hardly produced any legends compared to the other top nations in the world.

and the current players of spanish national team, none are a legend yet. raul could come close though...

Dunga: Spain Aren't Better Than Brazil


Carlos Dunga rejected claims stating that Spain are better than his side, and he insisted that the Selecao deserve "respect."

The 1994 World Cup winner claimed that Brazil are a scale above Spain in terms of achievements, after having lifted the World Cup five times. Dunga said, although Spain have had some good players in the past, "they were never competitive."

"I don't think it is correct to give the European Cup greater importance than the Copa America. Spain were European champions, and us from South America. Spain didn't even qualify for the Olympic Games, and Brazil claimed the bronze medal," Dunga affirmed to the press.

Dunga's assistant, Jorginho, another World Cup winner, stated that "winning a tournament isn't everything." He continued that in order to be a world power "you have to be strong all the time, and even have to win a World Cup, to be at the same level as teams like Germany and Italy."

Even so, Jorginho wanted to make it clear that Spain's European title was important, even if a number of weak teams took part in the tournament.

Brazil have struggled in the World Cup qualifiers, but in their last friendly match they hammered a highly-rated Portugal side 6-2.

Spain could be one of Brazil's opponents in the Confederations Cup, that will take place in South Africa in June 2009, as a World Cup appetizer.

Spain is my favorite currently, italy used to be my fave..until their wc 06 playing style and unjustified win..!! brazil has always had the most talented squad and probably still do..!! but i am smelling another Argentine world cup trophy in 2010..!
