Look at the decline in his game since 2 years ago, just based on his numbers alone. Down significantly in points, rebounds, assists, FG%, FT%, and 3 pt%. Do you think Kobe could score 50 points in 4 straight games again right now even if he wanted to? He doesn't have the same stamina or energy anymore to carry a team on his back literally for an entire season like that. The dunk against Detroit was incredible, but look how he did for the rest of the game, he shot the Lakers right out of it because his shot was so off.

Right now he reminds me of Jordan after he came back from retirement, before he went on to win 3 more rings. Kobe can easily win 3 more rings and be a dominant force, but he's not the same youthful monster he was 2 years ago. Right now, Lebron is the only man alive that can carry a team on his back for an entire season. I like Kobe, the guy lives close by 3 miles away from me, but you can't deny that its Lebron's time now.

I dont even look at Lebron as a basketball player!!!

Lebron is a once in a liftetime athlete who happenes to be playing basketball!! LbJ could have picked football and he would have STILL been as successful as he is now cuz of his rare physical abilities.

Kobe is once in a generation "basketball player" who also happens to be very good athlete. Give the same Kobe a helmet and he cant do shyt!! Kobe is a "basketball player".

This is why when people compare the 2 its just funny!! In terms of bball its not even close. on CNNSI they had this from some NBA scouts that people comparing Lebron to kobe is like comparing a toyota to a mercedes (something like that, google it!!). there was another poll AMONG NBA PLAYERs, that who was the most feared player in the league and Kobe had 35%. The next 4 players on the list were a COMBINED 17%.

Just find me one NBA player, scout, coach or executive (not a cavs player or coach or executive or scout) taht says LbJ is better. I still havent seen one. You only hear it from journalists and fans. THAT is the difference

so far, lebron has been slightly better and if he keeps it up he will have a better career than kobe. he may be physically superior but if we took that into account then iverson would be the best player of all time.

this or any other online poll can go for lebron for all I care. As long as most of the NBA players (including LbJ himself) and scouts think KObe is first, its all good!

The last quarter of the olympic finals showed who the bball world belongs to. If it wasnt for Kobe, the rest of the americans would be starring at their silver medals right now wondering what the hell happened!!

Kobe without a doubt. The Olympics showed who is the leader among a large group of superstars.

I think Wade was the best one this summer for team USA..bosh also played very well...james was alright..he used his fierceness and tenacity very well..and kobe kept the chinese in place ...so every1 played their part

kobe concentrated on defense and wade shone as a result since he was the main man on offense. Bottom line is team USA fell short of the gold medal several times in a row and if it wasnt for Kobe in the final game they would have had another silver medal to stare at.

Lets say Kobe had sat down the ENTIRE tourny before the championship game and lets say team usa would have made it that far without him (highly unlikely), they still needed him to be the man when everyone else on the team caved under the pressure and became chumps in that 4th quarter.

oh no doubt, i admire kobe since he had no problem playing the D and played it well...its also funny how some players slip in international ball...like howard, hes not the best international player for USA...its surely gonna be interesting to see the USA team in 2010..lebron, anthony, wade, paul, howard are certain...kobe if hes up to it aswell..maybe if horford, durant, mayo, beasley, rose and others play well they can have a shot

Lebron has to eventually win 2-3 championships and seal an NBA MVP (although Paul should have got it) to compete with Kobe..since Lebron will probably make the All-NBA team for the next 7 years

kobe is a more exciting player to watch, so i vote for him..!!

but Nike is banking on Lebron to be the next Jordan for them..!! i believe he will accomplish far more than kobe in his career if he makes a move to a higher profile team..!!

if had to pick one or other for my own NBA team i would pick lebron..!!
