Ukrainian prosecutors are to probe the involvement of two AC Milan players in the alleged poisoning of President Viktor Yushchenko in 2004.
Striker Andriy Shevchenko and defender Kakha Kaladze have been summoned to Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office to answer to the questions in the long-running investigation of President Viktor Yushchenko's alleged 2004 poisoning, Russia Today reported.
AC Milan's Kaladze (L) and Shevchenko are to be questioned for the alleged 2004 poisoning of President Viktor Yushchenko.
The president suffered severe disfigurement and nerve paralysis on the left side of his face in early September 2004 following a dinner reception joined by the heads of the Ukrainian security services.
The footballers are expected to explain their alleged dealings with businessman Tamaz Tsintsabidze, also present at the dinner, who is suspected of links with their former club Dynamo Kiev.

"Evidently there's no logic in the move," says Shevchenko and Kaladze's former teammate Andriy Gusin who has also been grilled in the case.
The 2004 reception was held at a cottage belonging to the Deputy Chief of Security Service of the time, Vladimir Satsyuk who has ever since fled to Russia. Russia refuses to allow his extradition saying he is now a Russian citizen.
