d league stands for developmental league. Its kindof like the minor leagues for the nba. Every d league team is affiliated with an nba team, and the nba team can call up the d league players at any tme. Alot of players that dont play in the nba get sent down to get more experience as apposed to sitting on the bench. There have been a bunch of players from the d league who are doing really well in the nba now

they had another game today, he played good and in 3rd quarter helped them take the lead to 6
but then the coach hated for some reason...didnt play him most of the 4th even though his team played like shit after he left and now less than a min left and they're tied

            stats: 17 min, 10 pts, 6 rebs, 2 blocks, 2 assist, 1 turnover

He fouled out in 13 minutes tonight in his team's loss. 2 points 4 boards and 3 turnovers.

TEHRAN, Dec. 7 (MNA) -- Dakota Wizards General Manager Tom Wagganer predicted that Iranian international Hamed Haddadi will prove himself in the NBDL (National Basketball Development League) and have a long career in the NBA.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to continue our relationship with the (Memphis) Grizzlies and provide Hamed with an opportunity to gain very important experience in Dakota. Plus he seems to be a nice kid who can help us gain another D-League championship.”

Asked whether Haddadi deserves to play in the NBA, Wagganer said, “Undoubtedly Hamed deserves to earn a spot in the prestigious league. The talent level in the NBA is so high and nothing is guaranteed. As with anyone, if an NBA team feels that a player has the skills or the potential to play at the NBA level, he deserves a chance to earn a spot on a roster and then deserves a chance to fight with his teammates to earn playing time.”

It is too soon to judge Haddadi’s qualities, he added.

“He’s only been with us for a week, so it’s tough to judge. From the practices that I’ve seen, he has a good feel for the game and obviously has a great size. His biggest adjustment will come from getting used to the speed of the NBA game...which is why the D-League is a terrific opportunity for players like Hamed. I think Hamed is starting to get a better grasp of the pace of the game and if he continues to improve his conditioning, he can definitely make a big impact on our league, which will give him the foundation for a long career in the NBA,” concluded Wagganer.

                      ^^^ thanx

yea i've watched his games and he can be a great player...its just some little mistakes that he makes and i think its cuz he's trying so hard to prove himself....hence he ends up getting called for stupid fouls...sometimes u gotta be smart and not go for the block and definitely stop trying to guard smaller players, especially on the outside

Another poor game tonight. 5 points 4 boards and 5 turnovers again in about 25 minutes in his team's loss. But this time he moved into the starting lineup instead of coming off the bench.

It looks like the Grizzlies coach and GM could both be fired sometime this year according to rumors. If that happens, I doubt Hamed will be with the team much longer. There is a real possibility now that Hamed may not be the first Iranian to ever play in an NBA game based on the way things have been going recently.

                          This should be no surprise.

Before Yao, there was Zhi Zhi Wang.

Before a decent Iranian Player in NBA, There will be Hamed.

he doesnt play bad though....his team kinda sucks and he does his job, and doesnt take many shots, he plays inside to get rebs and blocks

but yea the way he's going...is not so good, but if they give him time, he'll do good...i think if he stays in d-league this whole year, he'll be good for next year...but are they going to give him that chance is another issue
i hope they do...he has lots of potential, i believe in him

strange results on his last game

he got the start, played less than 2min and was subbed out and never came back
i didnt see it but reading the play by play doesnt look like he did anything bad...got a rebound, stole a ball and scored....then next possession he got called for 3 sec violation and thats whe he was subbed

Played his best game so far. Started and played 25 minutes in his team's win, scoring 8 points, 12 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks before fouling out.

His coach was happy with his play afterwards too: "Haddadi played his best game. It's kind of falling together a little bit."
