    Haddadi Heading to D-League

Iranian center Hamed Haddadi, who has yet to see a minute of regular-season action for the Grizzlies, will be sent to the NBA Developmental League next week, I learned tonight from a team source.

The Grizzlies' D-League affiliate is the Dakota Wizards in Bismarck, North Dakota, where seven-foot Iranian dudes are probably pretty scarce.

The Grizzlies want to get Haddadi some game action and expect the trip to be relatively short-term, probably two to three weeks, though Haddadi could make up to two additional Dakota trips this season under league rules.

Hadaddi will be accompanied by former assistant coach and current scout Gordon Chiesa, who "discovered" him for the Grizzlies this summer at the Rocky Mountain Revue summer league.

Hadaddi will be the team's first D-League assignment since Alexander Johnson two seasons ago.

hopefully this short trip helps him get some valuable PT that could help him challenge some guys like darell arthur and darko for some minutes.

i have a feeling its going to be a rough time for him in terms of living in dakota. the city's population is roughly 65 000

hopefully he has a good showing and get called back up sooner than later.

i think its a good move because the grizzlies are concerned about turnovers and Hamed is the kinda player that commits alot so playing in the D-League is a good choice for him to start with, and once he learns the game he can come back to the grizzlies.

It was about time he did something. We always knew he would head for the D-League it was only a matter of time, although from what i've heard Dakota is not a v. nice place and will be a pretty lonely place for Haddadi to be in.
