he wasnt the clinical grace you may have been used to seeing the likes of maldini nesta etc who are all of a previous generation.

but vidic is a brave and strong defender. always gets a tackle in, has a powerful presence, lethal in set pieces, and doesnt mind getting hurt. vidic is one tough as nails bastard which franco baresi and jaap stam both would be proud of seeing today.
