Its safe to say Liverpool OWNED R.Madrid.
I told Milad before playing at Anfield ain't easy but he didn't listen.
It was all about the pace of liverpool and the slowness of R.Madrid.
Not just slow but they couldn't keep possession as well.
2 years ago barca beat Liverpool in anfield 0-1, while barca got pretty much owned in 1st half but in 2nd half at least we kept possession and created good chances, that was the year liverpool made the final.
don't expect to see milad here anytime soon
GRACIAS PEP

Btw, Liverpool had more Spanish starters out there tonight than Real Madrid. Viva Espana!
Can't wait for the 6+5 rule to be enforced. Barca should try buying Fabregas, Arteta, and Fernando Navarro back and with Valdes, Puyol, Pique, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, and Bojan...Barca look in decent shape. Oh, and sell Eto'o for Villa!Previously known as "IraqiFootball"

i just finished watching the game (i watched the replay without knowing the score).
after 30 seconds i knew it was over but couldnt turn off the tv.
every single liverpool player was playing extremely fast and had better vision than riquelme. madrid players looked lost. i dunno if it was because of the anfield pressure or what? but i have only seen them start a match like that since schuster when we lost to some crappy la liga team. but when it was 3-0 finally the madrid players played at the same intensity and showed the same hunger as the liverpool players which is when we played some amazing football, even with a massive population of liverpool defenders. hats off to benitez... i have never seen a coach have so much control over his players as if he is playing chess with them. watching liverpool was like watching a chess game. every single movement, every single pass, every single look, every single breath the liverpool players took was calculated to perfection. its a shame our players become hungry only after we were 3-0 down. i never saw a gun on any of their heads that said chillax until you get raped, so why this is so is a mystery and shame. the ref looked absolutely horrible with those huge red goggles (not saying liverpool bought him, i am not retarded like people who think teams like real madrid and liverpool buy refs. it was either the anfield pressure or crappy ref skills), giving a free penalty to liverpool, not giving advantage when vdv was kicked in the arm and raul was going to score but he stopped the play, instead gave a freekick, and no card, which robbed us of a goal, disallowing higuains onside goal, giving numerous retarded foul decisions, raul being sandwiched inside the penalty box which is an automatic penalty yet no call. but by saying these i am in no way saying we were robbed, liverpool clearly deserved to win, but by such a large margin? hmm. our defense showed its true self once again. the first goal was gift wrapped, cannavaro brought the wrapping paper and pepe wrapped it for torres. absolutely despicable, mirzapour vs mexico-esque tournament killing mistake. the 3rd goal had sub-dutch league defending which left gerrard all open and put the ball on a platter for him to smash it home. the 4rth goal was expected because everyone was up and we had 3 defenders. thank you cannavaro for winning the fifa world player of the year for italy, but for madrid you gift wrap tournament knocking goals. pepe has been rock solid up to now but today i dont know what happened. maybe the anfield pressure? our best player, and best keeper by far in the world was casillas, lass was also amazing, marcelo was also good. sneijder, raul, higuain, vdv were decent. guti did nothing, i cant believe juande put him instead of saviola. robben? shame on him. only 1 man is more skillful than him on this planet yet he put on harry potters invisibilty cloak. i know he was marked like hell but had a mosquito put on number 11 there would have been no difference. btw for all people talking about the difference in fitness... after real players starting to play like they really wanted it (after 3-0) i did not see that much difference in speed between players from both teams.
conclusion:
liverpool clearly deserved to go through. thank GOD that we finally deserved to get knocked out. for the first time in the past 5 champions league campaigns we were outplayed over 180 minutes of round of 16. we were unlucky not to score today, and we were unlucky the ref was retarded, so it should NOT have been a blow out, but liverpool clearly deserved to win, and would have won even if the ref didnt mess up. congrats to liverpool, my 2nd fave team, and their product of real madrid coach, and i will be rooting for them like i always do in the champs league (except when they play real of course, but that wont be a problem until perhaps next year).
we can always get something positive from something negative. from this defeat we find out our weaknesses and have a better chance to do another madrid exclusive miraculous liga comeback. what we need to do: guti: he is one of the best passers in the world, and has good free kicks, but he is simply ineffective most of the time, and whenever he is on the pitch we get scored on, and he is too slow. we cant start him anymore. he should only be used as a sub in la liga. he should never play in the champions league again. sell heinze, buy a quality left back, sell cannavaro, buy a quality centerback. sell vdv, buy a replacement for robben. perhaps we could also buy 1 superstar midfielder.
hala madrid! hala spain! hala liverpool!

the replay showed higuain's goal was offside..atleast to me, it appeared that way!
but heinze's penalty was a wrong call in my opinion.Last edited by yashar_fasihnia; 03-10-2009, 05:29 PM.
