From the looks of this group, anyone would thing Egypt are the favourites just like Shamim said.

But I understand Pharaoh's concerns because of this:
- Problems inside the house are easy to spread in Egypt + such problems also get hyped by the media and the concerned parties.

- The Algerian danger:
This is not just because of the developing Algerian team but also to the sensitivity/tension of the Algeria-Egypt matches (this was evident in many encounters between the two)...such tension could always prevent the better team (in this case Egypt) from playing at their true potential, which puts them at risk....

In anyway, our fellow Egyptians shouldn't be that worried....only one match was played, a lot to come. Besides, Shehata is a strong manager and I expect him to resolve this issue like he did 4 years back when Egypt hosted the African Cup....

As for me....I'd be very happy if either Egypt or Algeria makes it to the World Cup.....You send me some "***hary" if you make it Pharaoh

Wow. They really do look like a sinking ship at the moment. I've always liked watching the pharaohs play as they play fast paced attractive football. Hopefully they will qualify.

Egypt doesnt deserve to be in the WC if they cant qualify from this group, sure these teams are pretty decent but Egypt is heads above the competition in their group, im sure they will pull through, I would love to see Egypt in the WC and I hope they come through (i just hope they dont draw Greece since..well...i wouldnt be able to face my egyptian friends lol)

Shehata is in a really tough spot this time, from the off the field stuff to the goal keeper situation. Does he start the second keeper from now knowing Hadary will be out starting in August? Or does he start Hadary as long as he can at the risk of sacrificing valuable first-team experience for the substitute keeper (who by the way will probably be Abdel Wahed El-Sayed, backed up by El-Hany Sulayman).

I agree. If we don't make it this time sure bad luck will be involved, but you gotta overcome it if you deserve to qualify. This group is not as weak as some thing but it's certainly not the crazy 2002 or 2006 groups either.

Let's hope your Egyptian friends have something to tease you about come next year

We need to rediscover that form quickly as we looked disconnected and stagnant against Zambia. Not only are the rest of the qualifiers awaiting us, but Brazil and Italy play us in less than 2 months

Iran = Egypt. bth have good talent but the internal management is just shite, even tho i think that egypt is a bit better than iran as day by day we are getting weaker while you still have talent comming up.

The good news is that i found an Egyptian shisha (and restaurant) in Newcastle called MAKANY (my place) you can get fool we ta3miah and all that shit man, i found my 2nd home (after St James Park).

man when it rains it pours. the problems have come fast and heavy in a short time. sometimes we play our best when our backs are against the wall though, so i'll hold out hope... the team has earned at least that much over the past few years.
