Wow look at all the replies!! I came over to Las Vegas yesterday to visit my mom and I just came back From the casino!! One of the neighbors has wireless with no password so I am able to get on the net!!

I am sad that Ariza's agent had to be such and unprofessional and in the long run Ariza would have been better but for the present?? No question LA is a better team.

It is amazing to me how many people really don't understand the nature of some events. Back in 2004 when phil jackon said he was gonna come abck to lakers all the headlines were about Kobe and if he could get along with phil for throwing him under the bus. Back then I told anyone I met regarding this issue: If you think Kobe is gonna have a problem with Phil NOW it means you don't understand Kobe and it seems like a lot of people don't understand Kobe which is why so many people criticize him.
Now I say whoever says Artest doesn't get along with Kobe doesn't get Artest. Yes Artest had some issues in the past but he has been on his best behavior for 2 years and the guy flatout just wants to win and the 7 game series with the rockets this year showed that clearly.

Bottom line is Kobe and Artest were like that against each other becasue they are the ultimate competitors so together there shouldn't problem. Heck it should be a problem for the rest of the league. The lakers met a bunch of sweethearts in Orlando and the nasty boys from denver didn't ahve the mental toughness.

Boston is mean, nasty and has the mental toughness. The Lakers need Artest so if they meet boston or even the cavs in the finals they ahve someone who is gonna have Kobe's back and Artest truly respects Kobe and if he didn't he wouldn't have accepted the midlevel exception at just 6 mil per year. The guy could have made more elsewhere.

I can't predict if Artest fits in the triangle offense smoothly but I ASSURE you there will be no locker room drama. Now just wait and see

i saw Ron Artest at club Area in LA on thursday nite....

this was the day he signed the deal and i think he was club hopping around town to show himself...LOL...so that nite i randomly went out cuz my friend had a hook up for this club. We go there and its some persian girl's bday party, dj is persian but he's playing mostly hiphop/top 40, and throws persian in there too. When he was playing persian, i was at the bar and see this tall ass black dude walk over, he gets close im like oh shit its artest, i was like wuddup dawg....he shook my hand and gave me a n*gga hug after that everyone realized who he was but the guys were jocking him more than the girls...lol...the girls actually didnt really care who he was. Then the dj said it, he said welcome to the lakers. So he stayed for like 30min. and bounced.

overall, its a great trade for lakers but also not so good for losing a young talent like ariza

                ^^

                Cap probs

If i was playing in the NBA i would without a doubt play from Toronto...great city...many Turks/Persians...very liberal and clean

All those things are magnified in importance if your a minority straight from overseas rather than someone like me who is essentially American in every sense...so its even more important to Hedo

good choice for him and his family!

i'm not sure....look at GSW starting lineup and bench if this deal goes down, it will be the best offensive team in the league by a mile...and with amare they would now have an inside player to surround with their great shooters.

once Amare leaves phx you'll see his numbers drop like a rock in water (ala marion)

the system they ran alongside nash really inflates

he's also injury prone..although the last one was a freak accident

I disagree strongly with you on this one, Phoenix ran the very system invented by Don Nelson 20 years ago, and Golden State is the ultimate up-tempo team, which is precisely what Amare loves...moreover Amare's numbers were not inflated by Nash, at least not nearly as much as you might think: he avg'd 20 and 9 before Nash even came over from the Mavs, and he was 20-21 years old at the time. Believe me, Don Nelson is drooling over the possibility of having a player like Amare in his system (something he hasn't had since he traded away Chris Webber in 1995). The only concern for GSW should be any more freak injuries for Amare, since his knee has healed well in the last 2 years, and he shows no signs of decreased explosiveness on the offensive end of the floor.

Give me a lineup of Turiaf, Amare, Randolph, Jackson, Monta

with Morrow (#1 3 point shooter in the NBA last year), Azubuike (#5 3shooter), Stephen Curry (a lights out shooter himself), Maggette, Cj Watson, Acie Law, Davidson....all coming off the bench

That team not only makes the playoffs, but is much better than the miracle 2007 warriors who nearly made the conference finals that year. Offensively they are simply unstoppable with at least 4 guys who can give you 20-30 points on any given night.

The key to this team with Amare though would be the game of a budding star in the NBA: Anthony Randolph

Randolph is 6'11 now, barely 20 years old, handles like a guard, can shoot the jumpshot fairly well, is longer than Lamar Odom, has unbelievable explosiveness, and plays his ass off on both sides of the court (oh and he also is an awe-inspiring shotblocker at his age). Randolph can play 3 positions on this team, and he will be a triple double threat throughout the next season. The kid is still growing too (Warriors staff report that he has grown 1 inch in the summer, and has gained 20 pounds of muscle working out).

I'm telling y'all now that AR will be a star soon, and that Warriors will be the surprise team of 2009, if they have a healthy roster (i.e. Monta ellis doesn't do something stupid).

                                Turkum jaan,

Marion's numbers dropped becasue the guy is getting old. Amare is not like him. He had 38 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists when he ws only 19 years old against KG with marbury as the point guard. He still has a lot of bball left in him.
